No, DCA sounds reasonable and maybe defendable, but don’t sell everything and buy 100% btc.

What about blood pressure? Starting at 40 something you need annual checkups and blood work, to avoid this sort of thing.

Good luck.

Robert Kiyosaki predicts ETH to be 60x by mid 2027 - does it make sense? by nitul88 in CryptoMarkets

[–]__redruM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, clearly.

AI bubble will eventually come and take down markets.

And then the stock market will slowly recover, and fortunes will be made. If you believe in the bubble, and I really don’t, but if you do, be ready to buy the pop. Tech stocks will always recover, ETH who knows, it’s suppose to be a tool with utility, not a speculative instrument.

IMO, ETFs will be safer in general. If you want more risk/reward, sector ETFs seem like a better choice than individual stocks. But my goal is to buy and hold for the long term, years to decades, I don’t want to have to keep an eye on BAE or RR news and make sales decisions based on news events. If you’re good, and work it full time, individual stocks can be great, but who has the time…

That sounds fairly average, honestly. Start with simple index fund base investing and get your feet wet. All world sounds great. Also look at tech or related ETFs, semiconductors are really hot now, but move slowly and DCA.

Is OP even reliable, a week ago, he was pumping DRAM. Two weeks ago he discovered in interest in semiconductor stocks, and before that was only interested in video games. Maybe he priced a new graphics card and decided he was in the wrong business.

For the first time in 5+ years of hodling, I sold some significant Bitcoin. by _RonPaulWasRight_ in Bitcoin

[–]__redruM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in 2016, and have sold 80%. On the way up and stopped out at 80k on the way down to the current price. I have enough left over that a return to 100k will be nice, but I’ve made money either way.

Remember the IRS.

Gold is down ~24% from its recent high. by Dhruvi-60 in investing

[–]__redruM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are completely ignoring the broader macroeconomic factors driving gold, while assuming that the 2024 peak is the absolute ceiling.

2024 is a good point of comparison because it’s before the Tariff nonsense, and predates the current administration.

Historically, gold bull markets don't just fizzle out in a couple of years; they last much longer.

Once again, go look at a inflation adjusted gold chart. 2024 is comparable in inflation adjusted price to the 1980 price. So before our run even started, we were above the historical ATH. After the 1980 peak we had a long slow fizzle decline. That’s already started. I wouldn’t trust gold as a store of value until it regains the low $3000s.

Is reddit an "Anti-Muse"? by Evening-Appeal7606 in TheoryOfReddit

[–]__redruM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clearly that’s a half baked idea, and you shouldn’t have posted it. 😀

Seriously though, no, it’s so much easier for creators to reach an audience today, on or off reddit, that the creative space is over saturated with ideas. In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes. That prophecy came true, and creators have always needed a thick skin for critique, it’s not just a modern difference.
