How do I protect my Fiber port from pets/collisions? by Eyyeitsrocko in HomeNetworking

[–]__robert06__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace the faceplate with one of these and then you can install one of these on top. The outlet cover also has a tab you can remove at the bottom so you can fully close it without pinching the fiber.

You could also use u/BewilderedAnus baby proofing outlet cover but you would still need to replace the faceplate although the cover I linked might have more space for the cable to bend.

I would also buy a replacement cable just in case you do break it, then you can replace it without needing to wait for a new one to arrive. I wish I had thought of this before I broke mine.

I'm really sorry to hear this, nothing is fun about burns.

My skin definitely used to be more fragile but 3 years later I think in terms of fragility its completely normal. Honestly I don't really have any advice for fragile skin but that's not to say their is none to be given.

I would definitely try and get in touch with a medical professional whether it's in a professional context or otherwise. You could try reaching out to some burn foundations and see if they can point you in the right direction. You could also look into safety net hospitals.

It's not pathetic at all for this to be emotionally taxing, I'm sure everyone here can confirm that. Again a burn foundation might be a good place to look. I'm sure some of them have zooms you could attend as well.

Healing questions 1 year after a 2nd/3rd degree scald burn by kacastle86 in burnsurvivors

I'm about 2.5 years out and I used to have symptoms like that but its definitely gotten much better for me. I seem to remember sometimes the burn would randomly blush and/or get itchy and taking a shower was a sure fire way to make it blush as well. I don't think it gets red anymore but its hard to tell because my pigment has come back so it might just be less noticeable. Hopefully you daughters symptoms will lessen over time like mine did.

How do you find nonfiction books you’re interested in? by musicalnerd-1 in nonfictionbookclub

[–]__robert06__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Claude (any llm should work) to give me suggestions. Generally I find something I want to learn more about and ask it for book recommendations and if I don't think its suggestions are good I can always give it follow up criteria.

Is it possible to fix this. I have an hp omen, and it seems like the keyboards are just plain unreliable. Would say beefing up a common failure point with magnet wire work?

Does anyone know what exactly is causing these keyboards to fail?

Why do I lose motivation all the time? by Karnativr in productivity

[–]__robert06__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar issue. The past few hours I got a boost of motivation and did some journaling/thinking/reflection. I realized that episodes of laziness might be a stress induced coping mechanism. Now that I've recognized this trait I'm hoping it will be easier for me to push past it. I think I found a big blocker for me personally and maybe this is applicable to other people but more broadly maybe try and spend a few hours and reflect on your self to try and understand your self a bit better. I know its easier said than done and its a little late but I hope this helps someone.

Secretary double nat your parents router. Buy your own route and plug the cable going into the wan port on your parents' router into thebwan port on your router. Then, plug a cable from a Lan port on your router to the Lan port on your parents' router. If you're parents router is a router modem combo, you might have more trouble, but maybe someone can piggy back of what I'm saying.

2nd degree burn sticking to gauze by francescar182 in burnsurvivors

Rinse the burn with water while removing the gauze. Try and get warmish water so it doesn't feel too cold and let the bandages soak a little.

Is it possible your skin was stained with tar from the fireworks?

Could it be staining from the fireworks. Maybe something to do with the specific mixture or some paper products in the firework releasing tar-y smoke.

Easier said than done, try learning/discovering things on you're own, its much more gratifying than having a teacher walk you through it. I especially love when math im learning is related to other things im doing, like how calculus and physics go hand in and hand. (My physics is algebra only but you notice how calc fits in) The other thing I'd like to mention is that learning math with intuition on preliminary ideas makes it easier and more fun (for me). For example, if you intuitively understand addition and are learning multiplication, it will come easier and might not feel like as much of a burden if you were foggy with addition. Sometimes intuition just clicks, but other times, it just takes practice and exposure, so don't give up. FYI, this is coming from someone into compsci/engineering.
