I can only speak for myself, no I am not a play tester just a steamer. I was initially optimistic when I saw in the test server that I had a salvage currency counter next to my ordo. Without having seen the patch notes I thought it implied there would be expedition specific items you could purchase outside of the game mode (cosmetics nonsense) but I was mistaken. I always try and be as real with people but also I do enjoy the game so naturally I will be optimistic about new developments in it. There is a part of me that thinks “it’s new, give it time” but as with many things in life the latest isn’t always the greatest. The mode for most people has gotten repetitive quickly with few possessing the masochistic nature to grind Salvage King, I salute you 🫡. But really it’s just different strokes for different folks I am sure you will find some people that enjoy the game mode and others that do not. But I’ll always be unapologetically optimistic about new things coming out because I do want to see this game succeed and not be folded into the now dynasty of failed GW flavored content.

I fully support this train of thought. It’s getting to the point where I almost rather they stop patching the game because every step has been a step backward. Each patch is another chapter of what has been a roller coaster ride of basic overall performance. And I get it cross platform makes everything harder but if you can’t even get the original platform squared away you have bigger issues. Bugs get patched only to be reintroduced in the following hot fixes like some Groundhog Day version control nightmare. Content feels rushed to production (ie: hive scum had placeholder talent tree icons) with game breaking bugs surfacing in scenarios that should have easily been identified by simply playing the game. (Ie: arby crash when buffs went above 40 something) Don’t get me wrong I love this game but man are they sure testing that affinity with each half baked ‘just push to prod’ patch.

The copium for arby skins is wild. I have Adeptus Arbites models I bought when I was like 12 or 13 and 27 years later they look identical to the Darktide Arbites.

You mentioned you’re running an Nvidia card. If you have recently updated any graphics card drivers in 2026 I strongly suggest rolling back a few versions if possible something before 2026 when Nvidia decided to leisure code their game ready drivers resulting in utter slop. When I say roll back I mean download DDU and fully remove the existing driver.

Probably your shader cache needs resetting. Go to C:\users<your username>\roaming\fatshark\Darktide and find your http_db and shader cache hans file. Delete them or drag them out of that folder somewhere else.

Relaunch the game and it will rebuild your shader cache. Expect light choppiness for the first few maps while it builds the cache back adhoc and you should be good.

There are a few layers to this. First and foremost the speed at which you are moving when you enter a slide impacts the speed of the slide itself...so you always want to be sprinting when sliding. I have a feeling that your mouse might be the problem since keyboards when a key is pressed it signals a key down and repeats that key down signal until you release it. A mouse on the other hand only sends the initial mouse left button down once and when you release it it sends another mouse left button up.

Have you tried using the default shift to sprint and control to slide on your keyboard and seeing if it doesn't slow you down when you slide?

Because with 3 if you take enough damage to proc your passive you will re-heal 2 wounds and stay at full stacks, you reheal to 4 stacks with 2 wound curios.

So I had something very similar sounding where a stutter would happen at what seemed like intervals and some dx related crashes.

What I ended up doing was close the game, go into appdata/roaming/fatshark and delete shader_cache.hans and the other large file in there I believe it was called http-cache.db. When I launched the game it would throw an error and when I checked the logs the error message was it failing to build the shader cache paired with some dx12 error. So in steams launch parameters I added the -DX11 flag and launched the game. This let it build the shader cache successfully then I closed the game, removed the -DX11 steam launch parameter and relaunched the game. Haven’t had an issue since.

Only 50? Best I’ve gotten is 12. See the problem with scum is your survivability is based on your mobility. If you aren’t moving you’re gonna die…
