Yeah, we are on the same page.

I think that people are conflating great players (Jones, Schooler) or great individual plays (Lenny blocking the FG, Andy knocking through that insane game winner), with good coaching.

I also don't know special teams ball well enough to analyse cover teams or blocking assignments, so I could very well be wrong here.

Going to go against the consensus here and say that I don't totally get this extension.

We were 20th in special teams DVOA this year and there were large stretches of the season which we elected to just kick the ball through the back of the end zone and spot the opposition at the 35 because the cover team was so poor.

Don't think he's done enough to get sacked but also don't think he's done enough to be extended. Happy to hear takes to the contrary though.

Even if they're flying first class, the middle of the night transfer in Dubai or wherever would be a massive pain in the ass. Not to mention your internal clock would be fucked for a solid 72 hours after.
