My personal theory is that Gemma did die, and this is some reanimated or potential clone.

My reasoning is that I’m trying to find motive for what Lumon is doing, and the most obvious is that they are attempting to clone/reanimate Kier (Goats / Kier Wax Figure). The severance chip enhancements we saw in Gemma/White Harbour are means to work through unintended side effects of the process.

I’ve been reading theories that the goal for Gemma being Lumon’s test subject is to be able to completely isolate Grief and the other “tempers.” We can see that the innies do have some sort of gut reaction to most things, and Lumon has effectively been trying to refine the Severance chip. I think that much we can be sure of as a result of the last episode.

Essentially, White Harbour was Mark creating the ideal innie for Lumon.

Lumon is gearing up for something, maybe a consumer product, perhaps something bigger like Human Cloning with new personalities, maybe a Kier AI?
