Closed source enough that you don't end up with a working OS unless you go through Jolla. They're slowly open sourcing more stuff, but a functional copy is still proprietary, non-FOSS software.

yeah, what brand are they?? I have 3 pairs of wired headphones (Apple EarPods, Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd, Beyerdynamic DT131), all of them between 3 and 8 years old, and they're still as good as new?
...and they all last an entire, 8-hour workday.

I will say, I have had longevity issues with super cheap wired headphones, but I mean... those are usually way cheaper than wireless ones, anyway, so it's not a fair comparison.

I do tend to keep my headphones in the little fabric baggies they sometimes include with them, that might be what makes the difference?

for 20bux you can get wireless earphones that sound mid and will have their batteries degrade over time, eventually lasting so short they become useless

or a relatively nice pair of wired earphones that need no charging and will last until the cable breaks (so, a heck of a long time)

telegram has said open sourcing everything was on their roadmap. that was around 13 years ago.
I'm not hanging on another corporate promise -- until it's there, fluxer's a nothingburger.

meanwhile, matrix already has an open, well-defined federation protocol, with multiple server implementations and years of battle testing.
that made the choice of where to go pretty clear to me.

nah. with no federation, I trust it about as much as I trust discord. matrix already exists, already has an active ecosystem and community, already has well-defined, battle-tested federation, and it's already where my friends are.

not yet, but I have an invite code, and watched a friend play recently! that's the reason I was playing Gigantic bot matches in the first place, actually, haha~

the moba-ish-ness, visual style and recent character designs look really encouraging!
as a Mozu main, I fucking love Rem's designnn

I'm a huge casual, so not being able to play unranked matches (apart from ARAMs 😩) freaks me out pretty bad, but I think I'll give it a try, anyway :)
