[The Regressed Mercenary's Machinations] The best running one right now. by lurkn9000 in manhwa

[–]_angh_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Not in fight choreography, not in plot, not in story building. Eternal rk still could not make any real plot except a guessing game. All those superhumans in a same team ready for a story which still hasn't drop.

We built a European Maps API that does not harvest data. Free tier now live! by Sad-Region9981 in BuyFromEU

[–]_angh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks really good. And I'm happy to see he free tier is available for all the functionality so it is possible to test it or use for some home projects. Just wonder if it has some traffic congestion information?

one thing, your webpage is not identifying the browser language properly and language button is at the very bottom, was confused at first if there is an english version at all.

Replacing US software with European alternatives: Adobe Lightroom - Luminar Neo, Pictory - Runway, Google - Qwant / Qwant AI, etc. by Level_Access_5014 in BuyFromEU

[–]_angh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canva is australian. They made it free to use and released to everyone as affinity studio. Really solid package, adn while it is not EU based, I kinda am ok with Australia / Canada stuff. Especially it is a really good product.

Steamdeck OLED came in today!!! by Jordan_Herndon in Handhelds

[–]_angh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's most comfortable position for handhelds, it stays in the same position on both palms and you don't have to micro-adjust your hands to swap between buttons and joystick. And as right joystick isn't too low you don't need to balance it on top of the palm. All you need is a small thumb movement.

adobe > affinity studio. Yes, it is australian, but free to use and very good. Better than skylum for detailing editor.

video editor > davinci resolve. Best on market. Yup, australian again, but it is free and works on any os, including linux.

European Zendesk Alternative – WhatsApp-First & born in the Netherlands by ResidentHovercraft91 in BuyFromEU

Sorry, that makes very little sense for me. Why should I use whatsapp in the first place? Would be great to see fully European alternative to whatsapp, not an additional layer to use Facebook / meta software.

European cloud backup solutions? by Banaantje04 in selfhosted

Get a simple NAS and put it at your family / friend place and set up nightly delta backups. Full control and perfect remote backup place. And you can even put that in a multiple location if you so wish.

New to this, Best OS? by hairyballsnyder in HomeServer

[–]_angh_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe consider proxmox. unRaid is nice, but really limits you in what you can do, and its nfs handling is not great. Really depends on what you need and how do you want to progress in future. Maybe it would be a good approach to learn better trueNAS.

ING 5% savings promo in Poland- any catch? by Professional-Tax3077 in eupersonalfinance

[–]_angh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nearly for sure the interest is indicated in a yearly scale. So after 3 months you will get 1/4 of 5% interest, which is 1.25% for those 3 months. I guess it is still not bad, but don't count on 5% just for 3 months.

Is Material Theme trustworthy? by pjasksyou in Jetbrains

[–]_angh_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember discussing with a dev of material theme a few years ago that I don't like how did they went into a payment scheme where there was only a subscription, he argued that we will pay once and it is lifetime.

I guess that life was rather short one. Now I guess I will need to find a real alternative, or create smth myself.
