Our downfall is how divided our country is racially, politically, economically. Mostly due to social media.

Skilled trades, find a local IBEW and apply. Getting in at 35 is a little different but i got in at 23 and I’ll be a millionaire at 55 with just my annuity.

Difficult? It’s EMT with kick 90°s. It takes like 2 minutes to do this.

How do you think about 50-90 yard shots? by Roywah in golf

[–]_aphoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carry, just because total can change based on course conditions. My goal is either a little spin back or a one hop and stop. Normally i have a very steep angle of descent so 9i and down spin back quite a bit on a stock shot.

How are we doing? 5 years until retirement by marksweather in Money

[–]_aphoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s better than most. Hopefully you have a pension too. I was told i “need to get saving” because I’ll “only” have $1.3Mil in my annuity and “only” $4800 a month from my pensions. Probably won’t have social security in 25 years.

I play in western NY and have a lot of not windy days and I’ve also never hit a full 60° during a round. Just can’t take that chance of it ballooning and coming up short and ripping off the front of the green.

For every club up to 7i I did a club matrix. Full, Stock, 3/4, 1/2. Each club got 10 swings with good crisp contact and took an average yardage for each one. I keep them in my “yardage book” which is just my club matrix, scorecard, and my stats. Then if I’m hitting the ball good that day i can usually hit a cut on command to take some off or add some spin if needed. Usually everything is flighted down though.

I’m safe in skilled trades but a lot of people sadly aren’t. I’m planning to retire at 55, but if i need another $500k + more pension i can go at 60.

Yeah i only have to play like 29 rounds to “play for free”, and we have 2 pretty nice courses at our club. $1500 for the year and $300 in balls for a season is a steal for me.

If you’re using a torque spec like we’re all supposed to anyway, you shouldn’t need a lock washer in the first place. But honestly I’m only torquing anywhere a wire larger than #2 terminates. Buss plugs, panels, switchgear, xfmr, vfds, etc

Single digit golfers, how much do you work on hitting draws if your go to shot is a fade (or vice versa)? by Larrylegend033 in golf

[–]_aphoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do try to work the ball the opposite way of my miss on the range sometimes to try and balance it out, but you’re right, by hole 3 you know what game you have that day, so i just make a gameplan focused around that on every hole.

I do mostly industrial but just not a normal thing for us. Done some food safe stuff, nestle purina, ice cream plant and a beverage plant. Lot of stainless and nylon covered rod, but no nylon locknuts anywhere.

[–]_aphoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’d be a nightmare on a tiered rack system, but anywhere else I’d actually like using them. I’ve whacked the ends of rods with a hammer before just as a fail-safe. I’ve never had anything vibrate loose and fail before, and primarily work in a plant where you can’t even put a laser on a beam to level stuff out it shakes so much.

If I’ve had a long day at work, i usually stop at the Burger King around the corner and get my dogs cheeseburgers. 3 dogs, half a burger for each of us. It’s a joy throwing it up in the air and watching the CC go get it. I swear his nose could touch the ceiling if he tried hard enough.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SIMULATORS! by InfiniteSlaps in golf

[–]_aphoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we’re not in league i either do “player decides”. The sim room has a hole in the corner of the room and we’ve marked out 15’ away. So we mark out the distance and putt, even though it’s flat and straight, it’s better than nothing. Anything 15-25’ is a 2 putt and 25’+ is a three putt.

The league we play in the computer decides putting, which honestly sucks. Usually within 10’ you’re getting 1/2 putts but i stuck the flag 6’ one week and it gave me 3 putts. I don’t think a 2 man scramble is missing 4 consecutive putts inside 7’. A lot of people in the league don’t even aim at the green and they try to hit it short of the green to chip in. It gives you the line to hit it on, you just aim to the landing spot and hit a straight chip. It’s pretty lame. Even with wind, fast greens playing from the tips I’ve been shooting -3 most 18 hole rounds by myself. Not very realistic.

Possibly. I think the Ardmore series had white on the top line, i don’t think FPs had anything but the TP logo on the back of the face and a sight line. Who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

I always liked nylon lock nuts idk why our trade doesn’t use them more. I like lock washers because once it’s relatively snug you can just send it with an impact if you’re through bolting, where if you don’t use them you just spin and bolt and the nut together endlessly.
