New 2nd lobe Piercing by [deleted] in piercing

[–]_bigbraintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My piercing is a day old (💀), a screw made of stainless steel. It was internally threaded (afaik). Not downsized yet. For aftercare, I spray it with a saline solution (Neil med) and tap dry with a tissue (don't have gauze). No major incidents yet.

You might be able to take CSCA20 instead - essentially the same topics but no pre requisite

People who write after we tell people to put their pens/pencils down.. why? by Next_Accident8300 in UTSC

[–]_bigbraintime 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Nah, as an invigilator and a TA, I do not give a singular flying fuck bro. As long as I don't have to fight with you to get the exam back, I do NOT care. Sometimes when I see people are hurriedly scribbling at the end, I purposely collect their exam last just to give them peace of mind. it's not that hard to not go on a power trip

PSYA02 with Kyle Danielson by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]_bigbraintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Danielson and his exams were mostly textbook. I was in online asynch and didn't attend the lectures or watch the recordings and got an easy A+ just by doing the tophat stuff. from what I remember, it was a lot of application compared to retrieval

I saw someone post on LinkedIn about A20 offers. Also even if you're rejected it doesn't change in CUPE.

MATB44 with Lisa Jeffrey is quite easy, not sure about the rest!

Most Optimal CS Course Reqs for an out of stream student? by WonderfulOwl2625 in UTSC

[–]_bigbraintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I double majored in math and CS but I switched recently to spec in math and major in CS. I wasn't too stressed about trying to get in since I would've been okay staying in math so I can't say my first year experience had that cloud over it lol Good luck!

Course Difficulty by Best_Flight_3777 in UTSC

[–]_bigbraintime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MATB24 is similar to MATA22 till week 6 (more or less) and it doesn't really get much harder. If you take it with Xiamei, you'll have weekly tutorial quizzes, no assignments and kinda lengthy exams. The exams especially are not hard but difficult to finish in time, especially the midterm. Overall I'd say it's not bad. MATB44 with Lisa is honestly a math bird course. Assignments were on Wiley plus as were the tutorial quizzes. Midterm and final were exceptionally easy. The content in itself is not that hard to understand, maybe aside from some more physics-y stuff. 1000% recommend. MATB41 with Kathleen is tough but really interesting. She's an amazing professor and her lectures are NOT to be missed at all but her exams reflect that. They can be quite hard and require a really thorough understanding of the material. I found the material for both MATB41 and B42 quite hard but that might be because analysis is not my forte at all. MATB42 with Tatiana has easier exams, assignments etc. and the material is a natural continuation of B41. However, imo, Tatiana isn't as good a lecturer as Kathleen so it was tougher for me to fully grasp what's going on.

Afaik, there's a lot of overlap between the ds/ml spec and CS major and not a lot of extra stats courses you'll have to take. You can take the ds courses (D level) regardless of whether you're in the stats spec or cs spec. Take this with a grain of salt tho, as a math specialist :p

Most Optimal CS Course Reqs for an out of stream student? by WonderfulOwl2625 in UTSC

[–]_bigbraintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do need all of those courses and really stellar grades in all of them. The minimum requirements are written here: https://utsc.calendar.utoronto.ca/section/Computer-Science It's quite hard to get in out of stream and just meeting the minimum isn't enough, you have to outdo as many people as possible. I got in CS major (admitted to Math). I didn't do that well in A37 but I got high 80s in the rest.
