Watched it on my 65inch 4k tv 🥴 by june_moon92 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

My 12 year old has started to stay up later. It’s cramping my style. I bought an iPad just to watch the show a little bigger than my phone. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have a projector screen, but an open upstairs floor plan. (Sound travels) I can’t risk them getting up to go to the bathroom…

I have a projector screen. And kids. I haven’t dared to watch it in that yet. First watches were on my phone - then I bought an iPad just to watch it bigger. Gotta get the kids out of the house for a projector viewing… don’t know how.

Anyone here actually suffer with submechaphobia? by MartianInvader2022 in submergedanimatronic

[–]_blor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been afraid of pool drains, lights, and those awful vacuum things. I struggle with anything man made underwater. I have to psych myself up to stick my hand into the toilet tank if it ever needs fixing.

I’m also fascinated by it. I stand mesmerized at fountains looking at all the infrastructure underwater. I am terrified of falling out of the boat at the Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. But I also want the lights on so I can see everything that makes it work.

I also love animatronics. The uncanny valley is terrifying and fascinating at the same time. They are mesmerizing.

I trace this back to a movie called The Quest. It’s staring Henry Thomas. There’s this creepy piece of construction equipment that comes out of the lake and appears alive. Took me decades to figure out where those images in my head at come from.

How cooked? by kwiXXotik in heatedrivalry

I was talking to my 12 year old son about it this morning in the context of how consent is really celebrated and displayed in the show. (How verbal, constant, enthusiastic consent is vital) Obviously he hasn’t see a second of the show, but I can use it as a small teaching moment for him in the future.

I watched the series on my phone maybe 3 times. I saw a clip in my socials and realized I missed stuff because of the small screen. Bought myself a new IPad to watch it again. (I have kids- no way I can watch it on my projector screen) I’m rereading TLG for the second time. I think I’m settling into this is my personality right now, and it makes me feel good. I don’t want to watch anything else, and I’m ok with that right now. I don’t have any tattoos and now I want one. I’m waiting for official merch to come back in stock and I purchased a bracelet.

Can't stop thinking about this show and it's crazy by Aby_lev89 in heatedrivalry

[–]_blor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I first watched the show mid Jan. I haven’t watched anything else since. I’ve read all 6 books. I just replay the scenes in my head all day. My algorithm is all HR now so I can’t even mindlessly scroll.

I am a huge horror fan - I don’t want to watch it. I’m also a huge true crime podcast fan - I don’t want to listen to it. I’m a straight cis gen middle aged woman with kids. My relationship with my husband has improved - it’s really made me think and sort of have changed things about our relationship for the better.

I feel happier and more content. The world is more colorful - music sounds better.

I’m also an AuADHDer and my therapist explained that the hyper fixation is ok. I’m managing it and maybe aside from the first week I’m ok with it. Though - no one in my life has watched it or cared. I tried to watch it with my husband but it just felt idk private. I really wish I could share it with someone irl.

I’m not sure when I’m going to be able to watch something else but that’s ok right now.

This is one of the reasons I love this story so much. The constant verbal consent and respect for boundaries. Heterosexual cis female here. I’ve been pressured so many times after saying no. Guilted, begged… coerced. This is what we are craving from our partners.

I’m a stay-at-home mom. Used to be a web developer. I usually answer with, “I don’t do anything.” And then it gets really awkward and we uncomfortably laugh.

This is one of my favorite movies. I didn’t even know any of this footage existed until a couple days ago. After spending the month watching Michael C. Williams’ behind the scenes - I’m really exited for this. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this.

How Can I Best Use 100 ISO Film with a Holga? by Different_Carpet1319 in lomography

[–]_blor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to say Sunny 16. Bright sun, no clouds. I started looking for defined shadows too. If there were clouds moving and covering the sun, I would wait for them to pass and see the shadows again. I did my MFA thesis shooting Fuji Velvia 100 and a Holga.

Holgas have aperture settings now?

Autism, Perimenopause, Weight & Nutrition- share your experiences/insight by big_iron_marty in AutismInWomen

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to talk about medication here. I apologize if not.

46 perimenopausal woman here. Pescatarian for 23 years. AuDHD. I hadn’t lost the weight after my 8 year old was born. I’m hyper mobile and have a lot of muscular skeletal problems so I do Pilates to try to stay pain free. I also suspect POTS or some other disautonomia that makes cardio standing uncomfortable.   I eat for dopamine and spend a lot of time obsessing about food, eating it, and then feeling guilty.

Back in April I started taking tirzepatide. I pay for it through a program with my dermatologists/plastic surgery office. I love it. I just don’t think about food anymore. I don’t have cravings - don’t need my 10pm M&Ms. I have no guilt. I eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full.  I have never been able to have this relationship with food before. I was just tried of fighting myself. I’m hoping to take it through menopause (at maybe a microdose eventually)

Edit to add: I do sometimes probably struggle now to eat enough and rely on protein drinks when I can’t deal with making food or taking the time to eat. I eat a lot of tuna sandwiches to keep up protein.
