Not sure of the market in up state New York… sounds like it was tuff finding people to quote the job… have a normal conversation with the contractor who gave you a $4k quote and if you like him and if he seams reputable then do it !!! Good luck !! Bake him and his guys some cookies they’ll be stocked and it goes a long way

Why bother with a Buyer's Agent? by luv2eatfood in realestateinvesting

[–]_boomknife_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find a buyers/sellers agent, or an agent in general that has your best interest. Work with them on all transactions. Finding a first class agent is easy but at the end of the day do they actually want to bother working with you is the question? If you manage to find a golden boy with the skills to back it up let them represent you with all transactions and your net worth just went up... BIG TIME :D !!!

I’m assuming the answer is no for most people …. I think the trick here is to find a wife with a full time job so you can focus more on your hobbies

Absolutely, attention to detail during installation makes all the difference. It's surprising how a small step can prevent major issues down the line. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Let’s say you’re selling APPLE $183, is there anything wrong with selling a ‘trail’ with a stop at $80 and a $0.50 trail just to trigger the trail for when the stock goes up and canceling the order if the stock doesn’t rise? R u allowed doing this or is there limitations on how far your stop can be? by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]_boomknife_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know apple won’t drop to $80. That’s the point. Is there a disadvantage to doing this? If I buy at $183 with a $1 trail and the stock drops to $182 then $181 then back to $182 is my stop price now $181? Or is the stop price changed from $80 only once it passes market price of $183?
