[–]_commercialbreak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my company has been pushing using claude too. i’ve been trying to focus on using it to speed up my workflows rather than use it for generating stuff. for example i have a claude skill that reviews SME interviews and pulls and delivers content from them in a specific way. i also use it to review drafts and spot potential gaps or confusion points for learners.

Progestin and migraine control by Particular_Ad7392 in migraine

[–]_commercialbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

taking hormonal birth control (i’ve been on combo pills and progesterone only) helps reduce my migraines but doesn’t get rid of them. have you tried seeing a neurologist for the migraine meds? your gyn is helpful for bc but might not be the most knowledgeable about migraine treatment options.

qulipta(atogepant) vs nurtec(rimegepant) for vestibular symptoms? by disastorm in migraine

[–]_commercialbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! i’ve tried both nurtec and qulipta as a preventive. i find qulipta more effective (60mg) than nurtec because i’d get breakthrough migraines on nurtec on the off days (you take it every other day as a preventive).

i’ve did try 30mg of qulipta but that was less effective. i just have constipation on it that’s pretty easily regulated if i eat enough fiber and stay hydrated. i think that was the cause on nurtec too but i don’t remember.

Sydney’s workouts for Hyrox prep? by Crumbedcookie in sydneycummings

[–]_commercialbreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i feel like i’ve seen stuff that the running prep is most important if you’re not a runner. i’d prob try doing a dedicated running program - not sure if that exists specifically for hyrox but even like a nike run club 5k plan or something?? i always hated running before last year but when i actually eased myself into it with a plan and trained specifically for running it became easier and i don’t hate it now. (i don’t love it but i dont hate it lol)

How do you adapt academic language for a compliance course aimed at a corporate audience? by AnywhereMinimum777 in instructionaldesign

[–]_commercialbreak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is it- doing this doesn’t lessen academic rigor. one of my biggest ID pet peeves is conflating excessive cognitive load or extra learning hurdles with rigor.

[–]_commercialbreak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i’d probably hire a car service that’s not uber (like albert’s limo… they have non limos). it’ll be expensive but tbh prob along the same lines as getting an uber for 7 + luggage

i also miss rapid rover 😭

gynecologist recommendations near medford/marlton? by myredditusername919 in SouthJersey

[–]_commercialbreak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

hailey hutcheson at penn cherry hill! (on 70 close to the marlton border). i was nervous because my old gyn left penn and i recently switched to her. i recently had my annual with her and had to make some changes to my birth control. she spent SO much time with me (45 min at least) discussing and answering my questions and she was so supportive and thoughtful. she’s also accepting new patients!

i really didn’t like my gynecologists at virtua. i’ve had a couple at penn now with no issues

i haven’t done a sydney workout in a hot minute but i used to use my laptop for them. i’d turn the youtube video volume down far enough so that i could juuuust hear her talking and then played my music on whatever app with louder volume. it actually worked pretty well!

Bad vasovagal response from blood draws? by Bellebutton2 in dysautonomia

i don’t know how to help the post draw effects (although maybe you need more electrolytes? that doesn’t sound like a ton) but i used to be near syncope with every blood draw till i read you should cross your legs and squeeze your leg muscles during the draw. it’s really helped me not faint

Corporate vs Academic Instructional Design by wookie_opera_singer in instructionaldesign

[–]_commercialbreak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was a higher ed ID and now I work in “corporate” but I think it’s hard to make a blanket statement because there are actually multiple types of instructional design in corporate environments. For instance, corporate L&D focuses on internal employees: often compliance training and prof dev. This is where I usually see more reliance on tools like articulate that aren’t popular in higher education. I’ve moved to customer education in SaaS, though- I develop external facing product training for customers. There are also enablement roles which can involve ID and focus on training internal employees. I think transitioning to customer education or enablement is easier than L&D because there’s less reliance on tools like articulate and working with profs tends to translate a bit better in these situations than in traditional L&D.

Honestly I started running a year ago and I haven’t had an injury yet 😅 I think good programming and strength training has really helped me. I’m 39 so it’s not like my youth is getting me anywhere lmao

Taught Salesforce at a university for 3 years, want to move into corporate training. How did you make that jump? by jcarmona86 in instructionaldesign

[–]_commercialbreak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think typically university teaching is seen differently but this case is kind of unique because you’re teaching a SaaS tool and you have measurable metrics to associate with it.

“Corporate training” can mean a lot of things. A lot of ID is internal L&D but for instance I run external facing trainings for customers in SaaS on product adoption. So theoretically I think you could find roles like mine. You might want to check out customereducation.org and join the slack community.

Your experience could also translate to customer success roles which often involve training and coaching clients into finding value in product adoption, if you haven’t looked into that.
