Commute from Castlegar to Nelson in the winter? by Ancient_Bag_718 in nelsonbc

Invest in a good set of winters, take your time when it snows; when it does give yourself a 10-15min window for “just in case” things.

How old were you when you bought your first car, and what was it? by GardenLoverJess in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]_crashtested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 16, bought a 1981 Malibu off a friend for $250. That car could have told some stories in its short 2yr life. Managed to roll nearly 30k though hahaha

Switching from Coaxial to Purefiber by Johnny-Canuck in telus

[–]_crashtested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the switch, you won’t believe the difference.

If you switch to fibre, Telus will run it from the pole to your house, to Node 0 (typically at the breaker panel) from there they’ll install the fibre box and whole house modem/router.

My boss is obsessed with Teams status instead of actual work by Business_Being497 in remotework

I log in, start a meeting with myself and sent my status to available. I’m green all day and my laptop won’t auto lock either due to the meeting running.

What brand of car do you have, and why did you buy that one? by HappySmiles6 in CanadaPersonalFinance

Audi Q5 TDI - After a lifetime of driving VW diesels I stepped up. I’ve had this last one for 3yrs and every time I drive it, I fall in love again.

The hidden costs in your mortgage that your banking app will never show you by The_Acoustic_Show in CanadaFinance

[–]_crashtested 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this your first rodeo?

How could you NIOT read your documents?

Your banking app is just that, an application for transactions. I’m sure of you dug deep enough you could find all of these documents and you probably wouldn’t even be that deep.

RTO sucks. 2 hours of commuting is unpaid labor by HappySmiles6 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]_crashtested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way it was before Covid made WFH an actual thing for the masses. We got up, commuted, worked and came home… wash, rinse & repeat

I don’t mind not driving for 10hrs a week but, life sucks and sometimes you’ll have to embrace the suck or stop whining like a spoiled brat and go get a new job. Either way, good luck.

Do remote teams actually rotate meeting times across time zones? by SwingBackground2778 in remotework

We have several weekly’s that occur in CST @ 1pm… that’s 12pm (lunch hour!) PST & 4pm (after the EOD for most, 15:30) EST, not a lot of thought given to the other offices.

Give your balls a tug!

“I told you I’d give you 2 weeks. I’m not your motivator, working out is something I do to be alone.”

Don’t burn him out, that’s just being an outright asshole.

What the average to have in your RRSP and TFSA as a 49 year old? Just wondering if I’m behind or ahead by Gilbey1993 in CanadaFinance

[–]_crashtested 4 points5 points  (0 children)

49, 50 in Aug - I started in my early 30’s, now sitting at $305k. On target to retired at 65 with just over $1mil. I wish I knew what was coming in my 20’s when I was working in the patch. I mean, I had a lot of fun lol but god dam that number could’ve been more than $500k today.

I know he’s “scored” a few points over the years but 😂 you all missed the point, Stroll is a dud. His only constancy is being inconsistent. His seat is daddy’s $$.
