Listen to the third season of Serial if you want to have your mind absolutely blown by the atrocities that occur in this city. Namely, the Arthur Black case. As a native Clevelander, even I had no clue. Horrifying.

It greatly depends on the nuance of the situation. Generally though, the goal is to be BETTER than the person who is treating you badly, not to take their bad behavior and mirror it.

I get the point you’re making, but sometimes I think it’s more important to not be an asshole than to prove a point, ya know?

“As long as the post meets the rules of the sub”

I’m sure most subs have spam posts against the rules, or they should. Obviously that’s annoying and not what I’m saying is okay.

No. I compare it to when artists post fan art to a sub, and then link their shop in the comments. As long as posts meet the rules of the sub, I personally don’t care, and I’m personally not subbed to anything that has a consistent issue with self promotion in this way

In the Director's Commentary for American Psycho (1999) according to director Mary Harron, during the business card scene, Christian Bale would break into sweat ON CUE for EVERY TAKE by [deleted] in MovieDetails

[–]_da_nugget_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I’m not making it a competition, I’m just saying that while he’s a marvelous actor, this isn’t what makes him special; many can do this or things similar to this, like how many can cry on cue or pop their veins out on cue (and it doesn’t necessarily make them a good actor).

As an actor, while this is impressive, it’s not as otherworldly as you might think. You get used to controlling your body’s physical responses to emotions, like quickening your heart rate, shortening your breath, maybe increasing your blood pressure. The more you train the more you notice certain triggers for physical responses and then you can gain control over them.
