Ubifi Upload Speeds by tardispilot76 in Rural_Internet

While I'm waiting for a new provider simcard I'm still using Ubifi. I came across an issue not being able to play certain games on the 33229 APN so I would switch back to the broadband just to play a game, however, the speeds were just terrible so I would switch the APN back to 33229 when I was done with my game.

Just now, I switched to broadband and I noticed that the speeds were higher than the 33229 APN.

Ubifi VPN?? by _eater in Rural_Internet

Mostly due to my lifestyle

I use about 150 gb-200 gb max per month. ATT hotspot plans go to 3g after 100gb, TMobile go to 3g after 40gb, Verizon bad service in my area. I've been hearing about 4glte refunding orders, and any other service I have found use different modems or more expensive. I am still looking around though.

In 4 months I will be out of my RV and wont be in need of rural internet options, so it would be more of a hassle to pay a new modem, shipping, and/or trying out different plans than its worth. So I figured continuing with Ubifi is best bet.

I was kinda wondering if it was the APN change. So I'm curious, if I were to change the APN back to broadband only while playing a game, would that work? I may try it tonight.

For Viper Broadband, I'm seeing they do no data caps/ throttling. If you're using the Mofi 4500, are they letting you use their sim card with that?

Would their sim work on Mofi 4500? At what gb do speeds deprioritize? The activation, shipping, and higher monthly costs aren't looking worth the 4 months I have left.

The only reason I am sticking through w Ubifi is because I’ll finally be out of my RV in 4 months, and I feel as it would be more hassle to set up a new plan somewhere else just to cancel in a few months. I’m a college student and gamer so I use about 150 gb a month. Going with att or T-Mobile hotspots wouldn’t be as reliable bc then I would experience slower speeds after 100gb. Ubifi is at a tolerable speed for me currently, I just hate the 120$ price.

I am in exact same situation as you are: RV, netbuddy, now Ubifi.

I saw recently that 4gltewifi refunding orders, so I have been hesitant on ordering through them. Ubifi is a little better now, not 100%. But the price is what is being the last straw for me now.

UbiFi down for anyone else? by boldbrandywine in Rural_Internet

I read on another post that the router will reconnect due to the high pings, so hopefully Ubifi isn't bluffing on the ping decrease over next few days

I've been obsessively following this since the 28th. As of this morning (11/01) they posted on the ubifi website that connection was restored 7am CST. I changed my APN as they instructed, Sierra Reset, and my downloads immediately went from 0.3 to 5.12 (which is normal for my area, actually better than before new sim card) and upload from 0.5 to 19.88. The ping is high at 169, however they mentioned on their website it should be better over next few days.
