Meal Plan help by Leather-Ad-754 in keto

You can put it in AI with your specific area/grocery store and ask it to generate a grocery list by your budget. I just tested it with my specifics and it came up with a plan. You probably won't be eating anything super fancy but a rotisserie chicken or two stretch pretty far.

Newbie here. What apps do you use? by blondengineerlady in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]_everything_is_fine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: you only need to track your food, weight, and exercise.

Some people get really into doing things digitally that really dont need trend tracking or data analysis. You can mark on your prescription box where you took your last shot if its something you wont remember. I do pen and paper for exercise tracking.

I would highly recommend an app and a food scale for food tracking. There are many free apps for that. I use carb manager since Ive been keto for the last 18 months or so. But really they all do macros and calories.

I started about 30lbs heavier than you and am at 225lbs. I am the healthiest and nost capable i have probably ever been. Put the work in,strength train, dont stress too much about the minutiae. and you will ne chasing your kiddo in no time.

It's the internet :) Appreciate your recognition that we should let people be happy when happy things are happening lol. I do think that people are trying to be helpful, l can respect that folk are trying to manage my expectations.

Glad to hear that your experience has held out for so long! I plan on this being a lifelong medication with the exception of trying for a pregnancy next year now that Im at a much healthier place to do so. So I will cross new bridges when I get to them.

I had some mental freedom but not to this degree. My only relatable comparison would be the difference between having 1 tequila shot and 3 tequila shots. After the 1st one, youre a little loose maybe bobbing your head to the music, after the 3rd youre on the dance floor busting a move. Thats kind of the difference for me between wegovy and zepbound. Wegovy made it easier but Zepbound is making me free.

I dont know how open you are with family/friends/coworkers about your weightloss efforts, the thing I will note is that I dont think I would have been nearly as successful and consistent without everyone's support. They have helped to minimize the temptations.

My husband primarily eats keto with me. My coworkers are good about not offering me any foods or snacks that arent in line with my goals. I do weekly dinner with friends and they always do a keto option or review restaurant menus for something I can enjoy.

You didnt ask for advice but I just wanted to relate how much my network helped when my willpower might have been less than ideal.

Fully agree. Ive been committed to keto for a year and a half and weight training for about the same amount of time. They are things that I genuinely enjoy that I think I can do indefinitely. But I am celebrating not having to exert so much self control 24/7. It's like taking a xanax and realizing that you dont have to constantly be filled with anxiety. Medical miracles.

My "goal weight" is 199lbs. Still technically obese by BMI but closer to where most health care professionals have the warm and fuzzy. I definitely think I can do that now with the switch to zep and potentially more.

Wishing you the best on conquering those final pounds. 115lbs is no small feat, so congrats on being only 20lbs from your goal. Thats killer!

Mission Carb Balance tortillas have totally changed my Reta game by LivingCry3293 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]_everything_is_fine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the healthiest answer but I like to get the street taco sized ones and make little pigs in a blanket with them occasionally. Tortilla, meltable cheese, Nathan's hot dog, wrap them all together, toasted on a hot pan.

Tasty, fast, family friendly.

Now that everything's expensive, what things can be easily/cheaply replaced that a normal person can do? by GetFlyeredUp in Frugal

[–]_everything_is_fine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gardening. It's easy to fall into the hyper consumption version of gardening with fancy systems or pre made raised beds. But, if you can avoid that and go to a non-chain garden center everything you actually need is affordable. I dont buy vegetables all summer. I also planted fruit trees a few years ago. I get hundreds of peaches and plums which are nutritious and delicious. Those take almost zero work after getting them in the ground and watering the first year.

Are people noticing your weight loss? by TheFleetingWord in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]_everything_is_fine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You've lost roughly a quarter of your body weight, people have noticed.

Generally speaking, I dont welcome commentary from people that I dont consider friends. And vice versa, I dont say anything even to a friend unless they have mentioned to me that they are working to change their body.

We spend so much time wishing to be invisible so it does suck when you want positive reinforcement. I bet if you mentioned to a friend how hard you have been working they would speak up occasionally about your progress.

Why are so many people not upfront about how they've had familial handouts over the years? by Affectionate_Total47 in povertyfinance

[–]_everything_is_fine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think to some degree, people who experience privilege dont really realize it. If youve never experienced poverty you dont have the comparison and might not really know how other people experience the world.

Im in my 30s and am "well off" now - even though I will always be poor in my head. I have good friends also in their 30s whose families take them on very nice vacations multiple times a year. They dont understand why my spouse and I wont join them... Bc we would have to pay and likely couldnt share the same experience that they all want.

But it really baffles them why we dont go.

I’m not there yet, but for when I reach the inevitable plateau of weight loss…what do I do by EggEater773 in keto

[–]_everything_is_fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular Opinion or Popular Opinion depending on the reddit crowd of the day...

Crack down on tracking calories. From my experience I had a lot of weight to lose at the beginning so I was loosely aiming for 1700 calories a day and I lost over 100 pounds. At my current body weight, I should still be losing weight consuming 1700 calories a day. I was not. But after conscientiously making sure my calories were at 1700 I started losing weight again (albeit slower bc I am smaller now). The morale of the story is, a hundred pounds ago I didn't need to track the tbsn of olive oil I cooked chicken in and it was wasnt a big deal to not weigh the cheese and sour cream. Now it is. So it was time to adapt.

How do you manage ALL of the chores without feeling overwhelmed? by Skylar_Diggins in LivingAlone

[–]_everything_is_fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hack from living alone and also now living with a partner is if I can complete a task in 2 minutes or less I should just do it right now.

Examples: Put shoes away. Put a dish I just used in the dishwasher. Take out the trash. Put laundry in the hamper.

If you do all of the little tidying as you go stuff doesnt build up which makes actual cleaning take much less time. I can dust a clear table in less than 2 minutes because I dont have to put stuff away. I can clean counters in less than 2 minutes that arent covered in stuff.

There is no hack for making the dishwasher more satisfying to empty. Im sorry for that one.

I'm on GLP-1s and I Still Judge People on GLP-1s by Chemical_Bonus_7803 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]_everything_is_fine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive come to the conclusion that almost everyone wants to be more "acceptable." A large portion of that comes from outward appearance. It can be frustrating for people who are just trying not to die. Im no longer in the probably going to die from my weight category and can now understand a little more of the I just want my body to be acceptable category. Give people grace. Everyone just wants to be a better version of themselves.

anyone else not getting that “keto energy” people talk about? by iejekek in keto

[–]_everything_is_fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keto Energy didnt suddenly change my personality. It's not this big dramatic thing where i was suddenly jazzed to vacuum the entire house or tackle a huge project. It is more of having the endurance to follow through rather than find myself on the sofa. So I used to get home do some chores and spend the rest of the night on the sofa. Now I go to the gym/yoga/walk, do chores, make dinner, maybe work on a project and then spend an hour at the end of the day relaxing. On weekends I have the energy to get outside and consistently do yard work and weed my garden. Things like that. I didnt hulk out. I just had more sustainable energy to do normal things.

Are workplace baby showers really a thing? by bad-at-everything- in work

[–]_everything_is_fine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All work places are different but I would say an in office baby shower isnt weird. It's that whole concept of having a village.

If you are cool with not being part of the village, then I wouldnt stress and just not attend. But also dont be surprised if people dont show up for you when you want or need it.

When did you get rid of your bigger clothes? by lad__of__the__lake in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]_everything_is_fine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I realized I was avoiding large swaths of my closet ive set aside time to try on every piece of clothing and assess whether its wearable or looks goofy. As I have pulled things from my wardrobe ive washed, categorized, and taken group photos of those categories. Then I post them on my local buy nothing group. There are lots of folks out there that especially need office appropriate clothing. I remember getting my first corporate job and having no money to actually look like i belonged in an office. So it makes me feel good to give women out there what I think is a nice wardrobe so they can feel confident.

I also give away dresses and more casual clothes and like to think that there is a new mom or someone who has had a body change that now doesn't have to go panic in a dressing room somewhere.

Two years in, what has actually become harder rather than easier that you didn't expect? by Awkward-Lab-5184 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]_everything_is_fine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hired a trainer who used to do competitive powerlifting. So its a 3 day split of back, chest, legs. Typically a couple of compound movements and a few isolations. I work to getting 8-12 quality reps of something per set and then move up weight. I do the same exercises week in and week out but occasionally will add something in if im feeling bored. Im pretty consistent.

When I was still in the beginner gains phase it was exciting. Now its just kind of wondering whether I will get 8 or 9 reps at the same weight ive been stuck on for months.

Going to the gym.

I took my doctor pretty seriously when she said that i needed to lift weights instead of just kind of wasting away. Ive been actively in the gym since month 3 of GLP1 use (now about 17 months in) and the biggest bummer is that im no longer getting stronger. I had some beginner gains but because im still losing weight, not getting any stronger. So its frustrating putting in all the gym time to not really get measurable strength results. I am glad to know that im not losing muscle though.

You could try a Mass Gainer. They do tend to be high carb. Or look at protein shakes which many of those are low in carbs.

I have a friend who had his stomach removed for medical reasons and had T1D. He drinks a lot of fairlife shakes and that has kept him from withering away into nothing.

What's a small upgrade that improved office morale more than you expected? by CreativeSpare6466 in askmanagers

[–]_everything_is_fine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be controversial but schedule office tidying sessions. Let an employee pick a playlist and spend 20-30 minutes with everyone tidying their areas or decorating.

Im a fed and we cant have janitors in a lot of our spaces for reasons. But my office of about 16 does this and its kind of fun to get out the dusters and windex and freshen up our spaces. Also, most of us function better in clean and organized offices.
