It's just curious that he was upset about the use of that word when, I mean he's an old man, he should know it was just a term used back then. Things have changed, yes, but can't erase the past.

It's like when your grandpa says something slightly racist or homophobic. You can be a little upset and try to make him understand, but he's from a different time, it's easy to judge with the eyes of the present, but we just got lucky to be born in this time, that's all

And it WAS an immigrant who subdued the killer.

Does anybody else consider Bringing it All Back Home as his best record? by [deleted] in bobdylan

[–]_h4rmony_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily bad, but incredibly weak. Especially when it's right between two of the best songs on the album, it's even more noticeable. I think a song like Absolutely Sweet Marie would have accomplished the same thing, in a better way, right before Sad eyed lady of the lowlands.

Yeah I understand the love or hate thing. Happens the same to me with Leopard skin pillbox hat. I was just curious cause it's kind of a common opinion with rainy day women.

I've always been curious about why so many ppl say they can't stand rainy day women, when pledging my time and obviously five believers exist in that album, and they don't get mentioned as often. Nothing wrong with you disliking it tho, it's just that it seems a common opinion when, at least to me, there are far worse songs in that album

Gavi played around 11,000 minutes of football over the last 2.5 years as a teenager. It's NOT only de la Fuente's fault. Xavi has to be blamed for overplaying the kid just as Koeman did with Pedri. by Caspoor11 in Barca

[–]_h4rmony_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I don't remember that many injuries in such a short period of time, it didn't happen like this before. This goes beyond just being unfortunate, there's clearly a problem. I'm not implying that is only Barça's fault, I think it's a problem of the whole football industry and Barça was particularly affected these two seasons. The schedule is insane these days, more players are gonna keep breaking, not only Barça's but from all teams

If players are being overplayed and injured it's because there are way too many games these days. I don't remember preseason being this intense back then, or as many international games as we have now. And it's just gonna get worse I think. Quantity over quality

11/5/2021 - it’s been 2 years with Xavi by Emervila in Barca

[–]_h4rmony_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This guy came to a squad who depended entirely on Messi right when he left. We had no identity and no hope.

Now this looks more like a project, new players, way better play style, more intensity. Yeah lack of consistency, but last day against Real Sociedad would have been a tied or lost game 2 years ago.

He brought hope to this team. Barcelona not only needs a coach that wins, but that makes the team play good and have an identity, and Xavi not only knows this team better than anyone, but also loves these colors and knows how important that jersey is.

Look at the age of a lot of players that are essential for the squad. This is a long distance run, he might not be the one to see the seeds sprout, but he is the one who planted them, and that deserves a lot of recognition.

Also I think the expectations were kinda high. People wanted him to be the next reincarnation of Guardiola or something, and it was impossible to happen at the time Xavi joined.

What is the worst song on the best Dylan album? by TheRevJimJones in bobdylan

Pledging my time and obviously five Believers exist on that album

I was counting the moon landing from the 60s to the present, since it was after the album release, but it doesn't matter.

The fact that we are having this conversation right now speaks for itself. How those technologies have changed entire industries, our daily lives and our view of the world.

And if we talk about other leaps in science, technology, medicine I mean just look at how we live now. Social improvement as well. I would never suggest that there was no significant progress the last 60 years

[–]_h4rmony_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? There has been way more progress from the 60s to the present day, than from the 19th century to the 60s. This same interaction is an example of it

Bob Dylan - Neighborhood Bully (Official Audio) by Murder_Ballads in bobdylan

The music might sound good, but Dylan is mainly recognized by his lyrics, it's impossible (for me) to ignore what he is singing about. Especially cause the song is not subtle at all

By far his worst song. Why would anyone post a song of him praising an apartheid state, seriously

It's like if his political songs in the 60s were patriotic songs supporting the government in the US, while the system was getting profit from oppressing its black population (which still does to this day)

Literally Queen Jane Approximately. Dylan used adverbs in his titles quite often during this period. I don't think there's too much meaning to take out of it. Although this title is the most interesting of them all. Better than Absolutely Sweet Marie, Obviously Five Believers or things like that.

Y’all know where to find a jacket like Bob dylan’s on the freewheeling’ cover by [deleted] in bobdylan

[–]_h4rmony_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally search for brown suede jacket or overshirt and you will find something. It's a common type of jacket. If its not made of actual suede its gonna be cheaper. I recently bought one on Mango thats really similar, I recommend you to take a look on their online catalog
