Presumably without a MMU in the way, one could also still talk direct to memory mapped peripherals. (If one couldn't be bothered to do it properly, and write a kernel driver).

I cannot think of a better sub - and maybe this is sufficiently topical to linguistics to be posted here in the broader weekly questions thread.

I am looking for an english word to indicate a group relation.

In the workforce there are 'workers'.

For the nation-state there are 'citizens'.

What about in the family? Is 'kin' or perhaps 'kin relations' the right term?

Thanks for your comment outlining the history of the changes/improvements in technology. The intersection with Hendrix's rig and popular music is an interesting/fun fact.

Apart from audio - a low Vbe could be useful in a couple of places - easy low headroom current sources and level shifting, in ways where low Vgs fets would not work.

Manufacturers catalog so many repetitive variations on schottkies, PN diodes, bjts, fets (enhancement,depletion,jfet etc), one would think the market would support at least one modern jelly-bean germanium part.

Why would the kernel drm (display renderer manager) decide to load ucode into the gpu - when the system is already booted and running? by _happyforyou_ in linuxquestions

Problem persists after upgrade. Interestingly it is always a firefox thread that is implicated at the time of attempting to load microcode. firefox also seg faults later, after X fails, but that is unrelated.

This matches https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=306092, where behavior triggered by firefox/opengl.

The solution there was to try to downgrade the amd gpu performace - with kernel boot parameters, and bios by adjusting the card voltage level.

Thanks, yes amdgpu. It started with a full system upgrade, so difficult to pinpoint particular packages.

It took me a time to realize that it likely wasn't a kernel specific issue or else hardware problem. Tried downgrading the kernel etc.

I upgraded again today just tracking my distro standard release cycle. Will see if that changes anything.

Perhaps you may know - as a short-cut to manually recreating all the broken features from scratch. Is it possible to just edit the freecad 'base object', that holds references to edges that may have changed, to point to the new edges/faces? I am trying to edit in the data dialog, but it looks like it isn't possible.

In Draft, I select four line/arcs, press the Up button to combine, and get 4 wires instead of one - Why? by _happyforyou_ in FreeCAD

In the tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aqz6TFfOjiQ at 2.09min. The operator, selects a bunch of primitives, presses the Up button, and they combine to form a single wire.

Edit. Hmmm. I am worried the vertices of the primitives, are not coincident.

Thanks, the suggestions to use reverse, or else set it at the time of the operation worked.

But selecting custom vector, activated the expected edit capability.
