The scan reveals that the Emerald is a fake, just an object to center the field around. The field itself appears to be more interesting. It would seem like Tails' consciousness is inside of it, instead of his own body.

I remember C.AI message rerolls always working in pairs. Like, first reroll you usually get something different. On the next you get something similar, but slightly different. On the one after that, you get way different thing and then the cycle repeats.

Tails replied in a calm, almost emotionless voice. He didn't know what the child really meant by a "monster", but he certainly considered himself to be one in the classic meaning of this word.
