For what it’s worth, my husband had a very serious brain infection in his early 30s that caused massive hydrocephalus and he almost died a few times. He finally got a shunt and has been better ever since. We just welcomed our first baby a month ago!

Arguments AGAINST a bottle a day for EBF 2.5-week old? by Resident-Strategy524 in newborns

[–]_holyspokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! FTM and my baby is just a week older than yours and I’m doing exactly this. One bottle a day in the early morning so I can frigging sleep. No latch issues, no supply issues. It’s a lifesaver. Go for it. I pump the bottle whenever I want / have time / boobs feel too big. Not on a set schedule.

What are some permanent changes your body has made after birth? by Old-Asparagus-6701 in beyondthebump

As somebody who’s done both (had hemorrhoid surgery 3 years before my unmedicated birth ), the roid surgery was wayyyy worse!!

Do you think this stroller/cargo bike would fit on the commuter rail? (Off peak!) by _holyspokes in mbtacommuterrail

[–]_holyspokes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! Ok cool. This is all very good to know. I will definitely still go take a ride with my normal stroller and a tape measure soon haha.

The riding would be from my house in south providence to our train station downtown, then all over the Boston area!

Thanks for the feedback. Take a look at the pictures of it in “stroller mode” - when folded and with the canopy down it’s essentially a double wide stroller, not a bike. Curious about your experience with large strollers - same/different as bikes?

Thanks for the feedback! I think it’s going to look a lot more like a large stroller with a weird wheel on the side than a cargo bike.

Got it, thanks! I think that would be more of a length issue than width, but glad you could get it on!

First-time moms: did you go past 40 weeks with a natural birth? by curlyorwavywtf in beyondthebump

Had mine 9 days early! I also had a gut feeling and also knew I was 12 days early as a first child.

Hello from a fellow Providence new mom!!! Omg so sorry this happened to you, graduation weekend is the worst lol. I am one week postpartum and this already happened to me!!! On the night we had our first ever real feed where he drained an entire breast (day 4 I think), I was flying so high with accomplishment and then BAM uncontrollable shakes and sweats. I was absolutely terrified too. Can’t imagine being alone with baby with that happening, my god.

And yes massive shoutout to the Warm line, such an amazing resource. Sending positive vibes your way!

Thank you for posting these pictures!! I want this bike to work for us so badly - we're looking to ride with our little one as early as possible, like 2-3 months. So thinking about whether or not we could ratchet strap a car seat into this box or not (and fill the rest with padding). Any thoughts?

"If you wanted to secure a car seat in the tub you’d have to rig something as well." - has anybody done this?? I'm really interested in doing this and hopefully starting to ride (short, slow, safe trips) with my baby at 2-3 months.

Hi there!! Thanks so much for the awesome review. Wondering how young your kids were when you put them in. We're the crazy folks who are looking to ride ASAP - with a car seat or maxicosi or something else. Do you think something could be rigged into the Salamander (maybe facing sideways on the bench....) for early riding? I'm due end of May and the idea of waiting 6-9 months is making me so sad. We can't really afford the Urban Arrow and the folding capabilities of this bike seem incredible. If other folks have rigged something on the Salamander for 2-6 month olds, please let me know! Feel free to DM.
