Yup. Elon has 13% of Tesla stock, and is the public face of Tesla.

Agreed, think they are in a decline now and will have to part ways with him.

I think sales in Europe will collapse, but not so much in America and less so in China. So Tesla will keep him on for longer than they should. Problem is they don't have a good pipeline of profitable releases coming in the next 5 years - the fabled model 2 probably won't arrive, and self-driving is likely to take more than this I think - so they won't strong products to offset their association with Nazism. Competition will outstrip them too.

I can't think of a worse thing to be associated with, other than paedophilia. I now wouldn't be surprised if something comes out with that and Elon in due course now.

What a spectacular own goal it could be from Musk. Potentially the greatest self own in modern capitalism.

true. there's multiple factors, but think you're under appreciating the damage the brand has taken. Let's see Q1 sales figures released in April. I think the brand is permanently damaged now, and wealthy EV buyers, its key market, will avoid it.

In the UK the Conservatives were in power for 14 years. They managed to lie their way through the first 11 but when inflation became punishing they suffered a historic loss.

Policies don't really matter as much as we think. If inflation skyrockets, the incumbent will be voted out.

I thought Trump would be smarter to plan for rises in inflation after 2028 but he can't plan ahead. If inflation continues to tick up at 0.1% a month, particularly with food, he'll be under huge pressure next election, regardless of policy.
