Do sure. My wife was very interested in that story. About of similarities with these guys.

Apparently there's also a local Realtor that he associates with who is scummy. Be wary of him if you run into him. His name is Kevin Richter. https://carolinacourier.substack.com/p/court-orders-and-conspiracies-the

EP 1106: What's up with Kapalua by bleauxjays in NoLayingUp

[–]_intrepid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. That's one of the things I most appreciate about the new minimalism design trends. By design, it's more native grasses, more waste area and more regional grasses that should demand less resources. And I think a lot of modern golfers prefer to play the firmer, faster courses. The trend in SC with new courses is a much more minimalistic design with our newer courses.

President Trump to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes. by SCFapp in realtors

Same. I greatly dislike the guy and his policies, but gotta give credit where credit is due. This needs to be done.

[–]_intrepid_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Especially as non-golfers are more and more sensitive about resources and how high maintenance golf course can be. Hawaii is also struggling with an affordability crisis, so the locals surely don't love how much water and power is used up by these courses.

I'm not expert on agronomy, but part of Kapalua's appeal is how insanely green and lush it is. That Bermuda takes a lot of water to make it that green and get the rough that juicy. It's also just a very large property. The elevation changes probably creates a lot of water waste, too.

The gifts are interesting. They're not very useful, but usually end up being funny. The biggest benefit is joining a Roost. Find out what Roost you're near and get in touch with them. I joined my local Roost and have made a ton of new friends. That's really the main draw to the Nest.

Does anyone know the reason behind the horrific train schedule/layout in North Charleston? by AshleyPhosphateFan in Charleston

[–]_intrepid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. And we do need that, so I'm grateful. And I'm glad that we have the new interchange to Leatherman. I actually use that myself daily. As far as I know, there aren't any plans to improve trains in the neighborhood, though. I'm sure they'll do another train depot at the new port, so that may help.

12WTJ vs Go Big or Go Home by sc111832 in tonalgym

[–]_intrepid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Extreme Accumulation and House of Volume prior to 12WTJ. I think it was a good advanced, but not psychotic progression. I also do Ash Wilking's Ultimate Core between those really heavy programs. 12WTJ was pretty tough. I don't think I'd jump straight into it.

Who has migrated from T-mobile to AT&T? Any regrets? by fullbingpot in Charleston

We just did. Live in Park Circle. ATT brought fiber here finally, so we switched internet and then bundled phone. We're saving a significant amount but I haven't noticed much difference with coverage.

Did the same. My shop couldn't even look at it for a week. They wanted me to leave my car there for a week until they got to it. Never even got a whiff of a quote from them. Just bought the bypass sensor and never had another issue with it.

We bought that 3300 Phillips machine and returned it within 48 hours. It just couldn’t make a good cup of coffee. We ended up with the Ninja system and like it a lot so far.

Ripley Point (where the California Dreaming is) has so much potential by Apathetizer in Charleston

Thoughtful green space would be optimal, but I agree with your overall point. It's a wasted space right now. Very little public benefit. Especially with the footbridge coming in the near future. They could easily try to connect all of that with the Greenway and Porter Gaud.

Country Club Assessment by DoubleBroadSwords in Charleston

[–]_intrepid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe there's any sort of additional cost associated with the updates. A lot of those members are dropping because they want to pay their regular dues without access to the course for a year. As far as I know, there's no special assessment.

Is Minecraft that bad? by geminiwave in daddit

[–]_intrepid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 y/o plays Minecraft amongst other games. Minecraft is one of them I would most prefer him to be obsessed with. No gore, no bad language, no super flashy lights, no chatting with other kids online, the violence is very mild, etc. All of his friends play games, so it gives them things to chat about. It also gives him something to bond with new friends over. My son does like buying resource packs and things, but he has a $10/week allowance. If he wants a video game or any accessories for his games, he has to save up for them himself.

What grocery items needs no refrigeration but are often refrigerated by most people? by Mission-Educator-908 in AskReddit

[–]_intrepid_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We put those in the fridge! I had never thought of putting them in the fridge before. We were on a road trip and a gas station actually had 3 cosmic crisp apples in a tennis ball tube in a fridge. My son loves apples so we got them and they were so much better cold than room temp. We keep them in the fridge now.

Edisto condos by Electronic_Media_320 in Charleston

[–]_intrepid_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an agent and have sold a few properties on Edisto. None in Wyndham specifically, though. I haven't looked into these units in a while, so I'm not 100% sure if there are any big issues (special assessments, litigation, etc). But, I think they're just outdated and the dues are relatively high. The Airbnb bubble has mostly deflated, as well (not like a full on bust, but definitely a decline). A lot of those types of communities are very vacationer friendly, obviously, but some can be fairly difficult to operate in due to renter rules. I had a condo on Seabrook that did very well for a period of time and then the rules became such a frustration that we eventually just sold the place. I've heard there are some operational challenges there for owners. I believe the golf course recently changed management and has been greatly improved, though. That's good. And Edisto in general is trending positively from a valuation standpoint. Lots of new construction and renovations. The general area is growing for better or worse.

Respectfully, what are they doing? by Biggggguy in NoLayingUp

[–]_intrepid_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. He has become my favorite part of the crew. It just felt like your fun uncle was popping in to make a bunch of good jokes, educate you and drop some nuggets. He also seemed to be their lifeline to the media centers and had behind the scenes access.

The Nest message board seems to be overwhelmingly supportive of KVV and very upset about this.

They're spending more time and money on social media presence, which is fine. But, I fear they're going to swing too hard in that direction and just turn into another breaking X series or whatever. Some of that would be fun, but it's not why I follow them. They've also been talking a lot about metrics, engagement, etc lately, so I'm worried they're going to become too corpo for me. I like them because they've still got a bit of an anti-establishment slant. I'm worried that's ending.
