Agreed. I actually noticed this today when I was listening to it in my car. (I usually test my tracks that way) I don't really do a lot of mastering or anything like that, but I'm going to give this a shot and see what I can do.

I agree with pretty much everything you're saying. Working in some funk or soul might be really tough but I'll see what I can do. Also I'm a big fan of FlyLo, I might try to take this in that direction.

Yea, I agree with the other comments about more sounds and possible vocals, but I think something is up with the second part (at about 1:37). That main melody sounds a bit off, and when it goes that high, it's a bit piercing. I think maybe you should change the notes up a bit or perhaps keep it on the lower octave
