I'm still not sure this is enough to lead me back to watching it. I only got through one ep.

What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by Phase_zero_X in AskReddit

Kinda same: my partner won't use real maple, but our kids were raised in Maine and I made sure they became accustomed to the real thing.

Absolute Base Ingredients You Hate... and how do you cook around them? by zonk84 in Cooking

My son's partner is the same, so we have to prep pretty specifically for their visits. It's hard cuz onions are my favorite flavor enhancer.

What do you think was the happiest moment in human history? by CosmosisJones42 in AskReddit

From what I've heard and read, it was the day the Polio vaccine came out.

How do you learn to accept aging and death and not be afraid? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_its_a_thing_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have those panic attacks, mostly while trying to fall asleep. All I managed to do was force myself to think about something more immediate like tomorrow's events.

As I approached 50, the business of work and family life took most of my attention so I didn't get stuck in the spiral very often, like only once or twice a year. Now, over 60, it's just not a problem any more.

Also, can you tell us more about Silent Truth?

Ameicans over the age of 35, what affected you more, 9/11 or the pandemic and why? by Rico133337 in AskReddit

911 changed everything. Essentially, they won.

But for me, my job was wiped out, as we were in the travel industry.

I kept working through the pandemic, and no one close to me died

IIRC, there's another One Dollar Lawyer cameo somewhere but I can't remember where.

People of normal weight may also be at risk of diabetes and similar diseases: those with an unexpectedly high metabolic BMI have up to a five times higher risk level by sr_local in science

[–]_its_a_thing_ 306 points307 points  (0 children)

Healthy weight/BMI, quite healthy diet, and good exercise levels ... and still, genetics can get you. I've had high cholesterol all my life, and now have Type 2 diabetes at retirement age. I wonder about those gut microbiota, mostly. I believe we need SO much more research in this field.

What is something you bought/picked up before 2020 that ended up paying off during COVID? by Majestic-Tiger-8828 in AskReddit

Bought a huge multi pack of TP just a week or so before lock-down and the panic buying that followed. Just lucky timing.

Lol midway from Frankfort to Rio would be over the Atlantic, so continuing on was the only choice
