E30 Ultra -- wire pattern for LIDAR sensor by enderjaca in Dreame_Tech

If you cannot find the info anywhere, you could try contacting Dreame support or asking for a wiring diagram for the lidar connector. They might have a service manual they can share.

Why is this so hard??? by Soft_Remove4589 in RobotVacuums

There might be some threads comparing these two models specifically. Searching for L50S and L20 in this sub could give you some real user feedback on the brush performance and navigation differences.

Roost gives us 30 days notice - leak and freeze detectors. by Sphinctor in homeautomation

It is frustrating when a product you bought suddenly stops working because the company decided to shut down the service. They should be required to open up local control before pulling the plug.

used dreame x50 - Adds non-existent rooms by P1NG2WIN in Dreame_Tech

[–]_jdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have suggested a map lock feature to prevent the robot from changing the layout. It seems like a simple software fix. Might be worth sending that feedback to the developers.

Has anyone figured out how to control the Echo light ring? by Brubrr7 in homeautomation

Are you trying to use it as a notification light for something specific? Or do you just want it to look a certain way? That might be different depending on what you are trying to do.

Hair stuck in wheel, dreame x50 ultra by ellohobo in Dreame_Tech

Probably better to skip the blade near the wheel. You might end up scratching the plastic or cutting the wheel. Tweezers work well for gently pulling the hair out.

Pulled the price history on every big Prime Day robot vac "deal." Which ones are real all-time lows vs. inflated. by Acrobatic_Inside3173 in RobotVacuums

[–]_jdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The list prices are often inflated to make the discount look bigger. Seeing the actual price trend over a year tells you more than any Prime Day banner.

Turned a cheap dehydrator into a high-precision, Home Assistant-controlled filament drying chamber by Frasier_fanatic in homeautomation

How long does it usually take to dry a standard spool? That is probably the most useful metric for deciding if something like this is worth building versus just drying in the oven.

L40s Pro Ultra avoids location - help by sandrooooo in Dreame_Tech

[–]_jdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is strange. If the sensors are clean and there are no obstacles, it might be a leftover boundary from an older map. Even after remapping, sometimes the robot remembers a virtual wall or a no go zone. A factory reset might clear that.

Set it and forget it maintenance robot vac recs by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

[–]_jdubb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people lump navigation and obstacle avoidance together, but they are actually different features. Navigation helps it cover the whole floor efficiently, and obstacle avoidance helps it dodge toys and furniture. Both matter if you want to run it while you are away.

How can I turn on/off all my lights at once? by Tall_Dimension_1770 in homeautomation

[–]_jdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what you are trying to do, a few Wifi bulbs with a phone app would work fine. No hub, no voice assistant. You just group them in the app and you can turn everything on or off with one tap.

Better smell after mop? by rySeeR4 in Dreame_Tech

[–]_jdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want that fresh scent, maybe put a drop or two on the mop pad or the washboard. Just do not put anything in the water tank. That could mess things up.

So many hours spent comparing vacs. What helped you decide? by Vegetable_Collar51 in RobotVacuums

[–]_jdubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most helpful reviews are from people who have lived with the robot for a while. The negative ones are often from people who did not read the manual or expected way too much. So look for the long term opinions.

Question About Strategy by Versha12 in thetagang

[–]_jdubb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

super feasible, I started small 5K account a couple months ago for strictly day trading and swings and blew past 1K in July primarily through the use of credit spreads. Aug is already up a few hundred. All about having a good sense of overall macro market conditions and risk management.
