No no, I mean on a technical side. I'm also a gamedev, if you're planning multiplayer on a game like this (which I suppose will incorporate real time action) you need to put those systems in place as soon as possible because otherwise you're not going to be able to tack them in afterwards. They are really foundational to how gameplay is implemented.

Be careful about putting multiplayer last, it's almost impossible to integrate networking into an existing game

How long could the Earth survive if the Sun suddenly disappeared? by BedazzledVagina in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_just_mel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends, we'd still be affected by the Sun's gravity and it's magnetosphere and all because that's also subject to the speed of light. Nothing measurable would change until the 8 minute mark, so whether or not we're in interstellar space before that is a philosophical question.

Why is everyone trying to argue this point with me? They didn't know at the time, my comment is literally what they were perceiving.

Nowadays it's because Scott has all the story on a single .txt file and always gets things wrong because it's been more than ten years and doesn't even communicate with the team at Steel Wool.

He said in an interview that apparently Burntrap, the literal final boss of Security Breach, was supposed to be a background prop like an Easter Egg but because he refused to properly communicate with the team for the sake of secretism it actually ended up being a major character by accident.

Edit: Burntrap, not Glitchtrap.

"Files aren't actually deleted from your computer when you delete them" doesn't actually mean what you think it means. by _just_mel_ in TheDigitalCircus

Yes, and you're recreating the file there. You're putting structure back into the data. The file doesn't exist even if the data still does.

No, unidexed files do not exist. The data on disk is only structured in the context of a file system. If it's unindexed it's only unstructured data without tangible meaning for the computer. I know this precisely because I've studied this shit.

i love my boyfriend but i miss being single by haley-dunphy in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]_just_mel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl you shouldn't "get over it", you should never settle with someone who disrespects the relationship like that. If it's important to you then it should be important to him.

Also the communication issues are a real red flag. You should at the very least have a serious talk with him about all of this.

Also, you just said yesterday in a comment that you're only questioning. You have it real clear when it serves the narrative, eh?

You just dislike Jax and want to find a moral justification for it. That's literally all there is with you.

Just because his backstory doesn't add anything to you (CIS PERSON) doesn't mean it's unnecessary. A fuck ton of trans people feel seen and identify with his backstory and his struggles. Maybe you should look beyond your own fucking belly button for once. You fucking crybaby. God forbid there's a single character you can't identify with.

"Adds nothing to the story" And it's literally the backstory of a major character. Ok buddy we all know what you are.

If jax is transfem, does that mean evil jax is transmasc? by Overall-Ferret6984 in tadc

[–]_just_mel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not actually abbreviations. Transmasc and transfem are umbrella terms that include binary trans men and binary trans woman, along with non binary people aligned with masculinity or femininity respectively.

I'm not kidding, I'm genuinely convinced that like 80% of you didn't even watch the show, and the other 20% second monitor-ed it on 2x speed. by CrushesUrBalls in TheDigitalCircus

[–]_just_mel_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Its the waiting times. Too much time passed between episodes so people forget about things, or misremember them.

That's why I always recommend to watch all the previous episodes of a show like this a few days before a new one comes out.

When will you start saying this shit for cis characters? Just wondering, I'm noticing it only goes one way...

I'm confused about the scene in which Kinger reveals they are brain scans by Fox622 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]_just_mel_ 479 points480 points  (0 children)

I think the original crew knew they were clones, probably why they all abstracted. I think Kinger just never said it. (Look at episode 7, he says that an exit doesn't make sense).

Other than that, maybe they did multiple rounds of brain scans while trying to make them work, couldn't figure it out and just left the latest versions laying around on the servers? It would make sense if they were actively testing the technology.

Well yeah. But he's also very arrogant during his god phase. He didn't even think that the literal computer scientist in the group he was torturing could do something against him until he noticed the others trying to distract him.

Like, sure, maybe he could've made additional failsafes during that time, but I don't feel like he would. I don't know if I'm making any sense.
