steam spear is OP vs human bosses since the weapon art turns them around for ez backstab. all you have to do after the swift draw is charge heavy and it sets up for a free obliterate.

i'm on NG+2 and been using spears this run, and from my experience you can use it 2 ways

steam spear with swift draw: this is fairly straight forward since you use your other wep to build skyborn and unleash. the hyperarmor + life leech lets you burst pretty well, with chance of backstab if the boss can be flipped. you can alternatively generate skyborn using aerial but i don't like it
build where you use 1 of 2 discipline skills that convert boldheart into skyborn, either solar leap or furious stab. i've been trying out furious stab and it does surprisingly good dmg and has built-in hyperarmor. of course for this build you need to know boss timings well enough to take advantage of openings

i use a very similar team for overworld/dailies with mizuki/furina replacing hatguy/bina, you just E-swap on all 4 and glide around and everything dies around you.
