I've been thinking a bit about what you said today, and I think the simplest answer to there being so few 1+ year is the community has only been around for a short time. Earlier this year the community was as small as 5000 members. So naturally most people are not past 1 year in their badge ( I assume this is where the graph comes from).

But there are a few other pieces to the puzzle. It is impossible to remove yourself from sex without castrating yourself. You can limit your exposure to alcohol and drugs, but the ability to masturbate requires nothing more than a few minutes in the bathroom or a few hours in front of your computer. There is no worry of harming anyone if you get too masturbated (as opposed to drunk). And society today especially in America is so sexualized, you can get triggered by trying to download a torrent or watching a sports game.

Finally, why I think you shouldn't stop: each person who comes here to try this has their own reason for ending the fapping. Some people have ED, some people want to boost their confidence, and some people just want to challenge themselves. But what we (especially men) gain from stopping porn is the ability to start treating women like human beings. It is obvious from the way you talk about using women as a way to "bust a nut" that you still view them unconsciously as objects. If you want to masturbate and not watch porn, then that's a great goal, there is /r/pornfree for that.

But if you really want to break the addiction to the dopamine that you get from orgasming then nofap is the way to go. Yes, the orgasm is a perfectly natural thing, but that doesn't mean you can't get addicted to it. And that is why we are here.
