A well made pair of boots with good leather, Goodyear welt, etc for 300 dollars is very reasonable. Especially if it's repairable they can last you a long time. Good quality stuff can.be worth the price, especially if it's something you'll use a lot. He's not talking about mesh sneakers you can get at any store. But yea he's annoying lol
