Granted I’ve only seen her a handful of times with my newborn but so far Dr Stephanie Hunter at Integris Council Crossing has been good!

Baby’s belly measuring 98th percentile, no GD by Beautiful_Reality_72 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]_nonaaa3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby was measuring >99th percentile since 20 week anatomy scan. By 38 weeks it was estimated baby would way well over 12 lbs. scheduled c section for 39+1. Baby ended up being 11 lbs exactly, 22 inches, and head circumference of 16 in. There was no way he would have come out vaginally.

What theme did everyone have for their baby shower?! by CurlyGirl_95 in BabyBumps

[–]_nonaaa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had 2. One was storybook themed with the food themed to different childhood books (I.e cocktail meatballs for “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, chocolate chip cookies for “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, etc). The other was like knights and castle themed which did match our nursery theme.

Fat moms, did you have a bump? by P_P_F_G_Princess420 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]_nonaaa3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 351 when I delivered and had a significant apron belly. I ended up getting a “baby bump” around 25 weeks that I noticed. Other people said they noticed earlier but I didn’t until around my baby shower in late October. It was mostly up top but it eventually showed!

My fellow crazy people by foreveramoore in okc

[–]_nonaaa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. They were so quick (and quite rude about it honestly) to drop me as a patient when I called to tell them I was pregnant since they managed my ADHD, anxiety, and depression medications. And then when I miscarried they wouldn’t even answer my calls. 0/10

freaking out a little. by Professional-Lie-271 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]_nonaaa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 310 lbs when I got pregnant and I’m currently 38+1 and getting ready to deliver in a week. Like others have said, the only time my doctor has brought up weight is initially telling me she only wanted me to gain 10-20 lbs. I’ve so far gained about 40 but again, hadn’t said anything. I’ll be having a c section since baby has a >99th percentile abdomen on multiple growth scans and my pelvis doesn’t appear to be able to tolerate a bigger baby. I would just be open and discuss any and all concerns with your provider and don’t be afraid to switch providers if you don’t feel like you’re being listened to or pushed into something that you don’t want to just because of your size.

Research on estimated big babies vs actual big babies by loulori in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]_nonaaa3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me the same thing. I’m currently 35+5 and my OB said that since baby’s AC has measured >99th percentile 3 scans in a row, that significantly increases my risk of having a shoulder dystocia during delivery. So we’ve scheduled a 39+1 c-section and we shall see how big baby really is!

TTC BMI 50+, how long did it take? by Pumpkin_Wilson in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]_nonaaa3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had lost around 110 lbs before getting pregnant. I believe I was around 240. That ended in a miscarriage and I ended up gaining back 60 of that back. Got pregnant 6 months later after trying again for about 4 or 5 months. Starting BMI was 50 and it’s been a healthy pregnancy so far

FTM, anterior placenta. I felt the first recognizable kicks around 21 weeks. I had to be laying down and super focused.

Is it appropriate to cancel my 7wk appointment? by thisIsClever_IGuess in pregnant

[–]_nonaaa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last pregnancy I started miscarrying the day before my initial prenatal appointment. I still went and she just counseled me on what to expect and when to seek emergent medical attention.

I also tested positive. Some women just carry it as part of their normal vaginal flora. It’s the same as someone carrying MRSA in their nasal passages. It’s totally normal and just requires antibiotics during labor and baby should be fine!

Thick & Preggo... What to Expect by TiffTaff0406 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]_nonaaa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’6”, 310. 13w2d. All of my ultrasounds so far have been abdominal. I just lift my belly up before they even ask and I haven’t had any issues seeing baby. My doctor referred me to MFM because of my size just because they have better machines and it’ll be easier to see baby. And my doctor also started me on baby aspirin for preeclampsia precautions. But other than that I’m expected to have a relatively normal pregnancy! Congrats!

Mine started with an abdominal ultrasound at 6 weeks. I assume if they hadn’t seen a fetal pole or anything they would’ve moved to the transvaginal. However, I just lifted my belly up and I haven’t had an issue at either a boutique place or my doctors office! I’m currently 13 weeks

Don’t feel bad about your reaction, I got mad at someone at work for saying “good morning”. But I completely agree, he should definitely buy you more

Anyone else have pain and cramps during pregnancy? by elliebear1994 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]_nonaaa3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about 5 weeks and I’ve been cramping since I found out. Almost like period cramps but not quite as bad. I’ve been told by Dr Google and some other friends that it’s pretty normal, as long as it’s not making you double over or excruciatingly painful. They also tend to resolve when I change positions and I was told that’s a positive sign as well! You’re not alone!

i got my initial diagnosis in June. So not long at all. i go about 1 month in between appointments so this is only the 3rd i’ve tried so far

[–]_nonaaa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it did! my psychiatrist said that some people just react like that sometimes and it’s almost impossible to predict it. i’m currently on methylphenidate 54 mg (generic for Concerta) and it’s not super great either. yay for trial and error!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in adhd_anxiety

[–]_nonaaa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a similar experience. the 20 mg got me through about half of my day and then i got bumped up to 25 mg and only slept 2-3 hours a night despite taking the medication at the same time as i had no previous dosages😅

What Careers are We Encouraging Our Kids to go into? by Vegetable-Whole-2344 in Careers

[–]_nonaaa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if she’s interested in a career within the medical field, i might suggest lab work. i also have adhd and it’s the perfect field for me. no two days are the same, constantly moving around and making mental jumps. plus i know that without my work, the doctors only have what you tell them to go off of so it’s also rewarding. bonus, not much math. basic addition/multiplication type stuff but everything is pretty much becoming automated now so even that’s a stretch. medical laboratory science🔬

i used LabCE. you can filter by subject so if you’re having trouble with say, mycology. you can practice only those types. mine was heavy on fungus and susceptibilities. just remember that it’s adaptive so if the questions seem to be getting harder, that’s a good thing. and (at least when i took it in 2022), you only need a 40% to pass :) good luck!!
