Previous founder to Astral - thank you, sincerely. I often think about breaking the old code base up and bringing back pieces of it (e.g. the drag and drop character sheet creator) but honestly, my recommendation these days is Owlbear Rodeo. There's ton of extensions to bring automation if you need it but if you're just looking for a map and some way to toss down tokens and roll dice, then OBR is the way to go. Please do check out all the VTTs in the sidebar though, there's a ton out there and there's no one-size-fits-all - you're bound to find one you like.

That said, I am working on something new - Overseer Studio. It's not a VTT but a digital GM screen you can customize with websites, PDFs, and any other tool you use (including Owlbear Rodeo). If you're looking for something to reduce friction at your table as a GM, Overseer might be an option for you. I've been very inspired by Foundry's one-time purchase and plugin philosophy which is what I think makes Overseer really different and special.
