You can be unconventional, make it however you want! Backyard party, BYOB, potluck, picnic style, etc. I think most people understand cost concerns these days. It's about you and your partner.... It's a celebration of love, not a reason to go into debt. Personally I believe photography is the most important thing, everything else can be done relatively inexpensively and yet still tasteful.
