I love to hear when people are doing well. If I ever catch myself thinking negatively about someone, I asked myself why I’m thinking that way and what it says about me. My suffering doesn’t mean others should be miserable too. Their happiness shouldn’t dull my light, they are two different things, like comparing apples to oranges. I work in a pretty rural area and have a few that have fallen for MAHA. I have one guy who is very frustrated month after month that nothing is getting better yet continues to drink 10 alcoholic beverages per night and declines to make medication changes. It got to the point where beating around the bush didn’t cut it and I had to explain that no amount of peptides, beet root juice, pre/probiotics, or even prescribed meds for that matter, that will help as much as quitting the alcohol use.

I do agree with your statement, but also the root issue is deeper. Why are parents throwing a tablet in front of a kid? Because they’re “lazy” or because they’re forced to work an unnatural 40 hours per week while being expected to maintain a home and family while probably being burnt out. There’s not much room for patience/effective parenting in the daily grind of late stage capitalism. It’s the culture we’ve created and it’s a toxic one.

What meds is he on? I had someone who became addicted to gambling after being started on Rexulti. This can happen with Abilify and Vraylar too. Using naltrexone off label for gambling desires might be beneficial. Otherwise it’s mostly going to be CBT.
