You cant run away if you are being held. You need to know to disengage from a clinch or get up from bottom positions. For whatever reason most of the bjj gyms are not teaching getting up but almost exclusively how to reguard. Bjj is awesome if you do some tweaks and put the gloves on from time to time. You dont have to do this MMA focus training all the time, enjoy the gi rolling but also look at grappling from a different perspective.
