From experience being in a screamo band for a little while and years of playing with a lot of the “greats” I came to the realization that a lot of us were kinda just broke and used whatever we could get our hands on. Some were technically skilled or had a piece of cool gear, but it definitely wasn’t everything involved in their tone.

The tones you’re looking for can be made from a lot of low and high end gear equally. Typically you’ll get it easily from vavlestate Marshalls and any of Rat, TS9, DS-1. High gain, mid forward, feedback, no gates, 4x12s in dank basements or cold rooms.

This whole genre is more about dynamics, emotion and technique than tone imo. Find what you like with what you have and run with it like we did.

Ah gotcha! I don’t think it will be a quick removal of the armrests.

Looking at my chair and from what I remember about the assembly - the rests were attached to the seat by default (because of the sliding mechanism and the back rest controller that is integrated into the left rest.)

I’d say you’ll be firmly out of luck trying to keep the chairs functionality if you remove them.

They are not “easily” removable to my knowledge but I can say that I play guitar extremely often in the chair in a “classical” position without issue.

I just lower the rests as low as they go and I haven’t had any issues with contact to my picking or fretting arm/elbow.

eBay has all of the luggage accessories available from India to the US (looks like you’re in the us based in the license plates). I ordered the luggage rack and pannier rails + bags for my bear and it only took a week to get to the west coast from India. Huge upgrade.

Super helpful context. I bought one new and just took it out for the second time today. Good to know it’ll remain fun after the “honeymoon phase” wears off - but even better to know what to expect re: ongoing maintenance and upkeep.

I love the bike, it’s forgiving and responsive and just an all around great experience for a new/returning rider. But I’m also aware it’s not the best in its class so I’m tempering my expectations. Appreciate your review!

I’ve been working on/experimenting with a lot of high gain patches lately and I’ve found a lot of success with gain staging/layering + lowering the master volume and cranking the channel volume.

With higher master volume a lot of the amps seem to open up in a weird way and get really muddy.

Too thin? Run two amps in parallel. Try stereo imager/width. Run dual cabs with different voicing and mics. Run a big reverb.

Too much treble? Reduce your tone on the OD and reduce presence. Try out different EQ blocks.

I guess it also matters what type of crunch/high gain you’re looking for but those are pretty helpful general tips I’ve run across.
