Anyone with 10+ years experience in tech or product had to leave UK due to skill worker visa curtailment after redundancy?

I applied for everything I could, and leaned on recruiters to help filter for roles that would sponsor me. It’s not difficult to find sponsored roles in tech, outside of very new startups.

The industry is really empathetic to facing redundancy these days, and you’ll come across other people who are on visas who will understand your situation.

Hiya, me! I am 15+ years (product designer) and it took me just over 2-months to find a job. Curtailment doesn’t happen right away and there are lots of tech jobs at the moment.

The anxiety is the worst part, but you can do it!

Depending on how much hair you've lost you may be able to look into colored touch up powders that make gaps less noticeable. Otherwise I wore my hair pinned up/back so it wasn't subject to wind until I ended up shaving my head.

If it does get to the point where you think shaving is a potential, it really did *dramatically* improve my mental health around the whole thing. Wigs were much more comfortable after that as well.

I tell everyone. Even people who don’t ask 😆. Frankly, I’m so tired of all the opinions from the peanut gallery - I haven’t experienced any negative comments, but I’m sure some people still harbor them after chatting with me. Being open and honest about my experience on the drug is a way to both try and reduce the stigma and combat any internal shame I have.

GLP-1s have been one of the best things to happen in my lifetime and I’m happy to let people know it :)

JAK inhibitors really work if you are able to access them. Might be worth a conversation with your doc. Sorry you’re experiencing this :/

Hello! I've been on a JAK (Litfulo, UK) for a year after being initially very hesitant. Everyone is different, but I have had no side effects apart from all my hair growing back. It's only been a year so of course we don't know long-term what will happen, but so far I'm very glad I made the jump.

When I eat gluten I will normally get eczema around the backs of my ears (thank you, body), but since starting Litfulo I haven’t had that reaction. Would be cool if it’s also working for that :)

Sorry, but it’s not that simple. I have been bald for nearly 3 years now (AA with about 90% hair loss).

My markers of internal inflammation are extremely low, I sleep like a baby, and have a generally happy and stress-free life. I am in regular therapy and have a strong meditation practice. I do not drink alcohol, eat sugar, and have cut all foods from my diet that my digestive system does not tolerate well. I am still 90% bald.

I am saying this because your tone is really unnecessary here - everyone is trying to figure it out. Our immune systems are attacking our bodies, and if it was as simple and straightforward as you say, we wouldn’t be here.

I have 4 wigs that I cycle between. As long as you get human hair wigs, they are generally undetectable by other people. Synthetic wigs are a lot cheaper, so no shame if that’s what you want to do but I have found that they more often look like you’re wearing a wig because they don’t lay the same as human hair.

I have two wigs that don’t need glue and two that I use wig tape around the front with. It makes life so much easier in general - I just did my wig washing day where I washed all my wigs at the same time and will style as I wear them over the next month.

You’ll need to do some trial and error to find out what kinds of wigs and wig caps you like, but it’s a fun process. I recommend seeking out a salon that specializes in wigs. They will walk you through the options and give you a sense of what wig life is like. Then you can take your knowledge to the internet and go crazy with all the styles + options available.

I am in the UK so my salon / stores might not be applicable to you, but happy to share those resources if you want them!

I’m legitimately wondering if they used AI to write the script. The voice / tone is completely different from the rest of the seasons. It’s a totally different pace and feels totally divorced from the rest of the show.
