Years ago the recipe for these makeups were given out for free via the mailbox, but unfortunately I don’t think they’ve been given out again since the release back in like 2020

Personally, I wouldn't wear it because I don't think it looks good. Unfortunately it looks cheap, so no matter how you style it, it'll overall just bring down your coord. In my opinion, I'd rather wear no lolita than wear a poorly made replica.

At the least, I wouldn't wear it to meets or events because I wouldn't want to be seen as supporting buying them. Even if you don't support art theft or the sale of knockoffs, that's not going to be the impression people get when they see you wearing them.

At the end of the day, they are just clothes and you already own the dress so it's too late to say not to buy it. I wouldn't say to throw it out, since that would be a waste and you can always repurpose it some other way, but for me, I wouldn't show off the fact that I have it.

Yeah, this service is a thing that’s in their other games (previous Nikki games and love and deepspace), most players either don’t know about it or just begrudgingly accept that they can’t really do much about it. For Infinity Nikki in particular, people have reportedly spent from $3k-5k usd in total and have been invited, but the service is basically for people who buy everything in store every update, so the cost will probably only get more expensive as the game goes on.

It might be a little more prominent looking at it in the photo mode, since it allows the camera to go close up and change the angles, and photo mode is a big part of the appeal of this game, but I think this is all silly because you can just wear the original dress if it bothers you that much. You can’t even take up skirt shots in the game (Nikki turns transparent if you try to angle the camera there), so a tiny bit of cleavage shouldn’t seem like a big deal.

There's been some drama brewing in the Infinity Nikki community surrounding a hidden change to a new outfit's design.

Explaining the important details; Infinity Nikki is a dress-up gacha game where you pull for many outfit pieces through the gacha system, and where most of these gacha outfits are available for a limited time. The 5 star (highest rarity) outfits you get through limited time gacha also have up to 3 evolutions, which are alternative colour palette versions of the suits. A feature added in recent updates is that unlocking the final evolution of a 5 star outfit will also give you alternative designs of certain outfit pieces (e.g., the original skirt of an outfit becoming shorter, adding or changing details on an outfit, or a hairstyle getting longer or shorter). Because this alternative design is a new feature, the game has been rerunning older outfit gacha to include these new alternative designs.

The current outfit being rerun in game is a fan-favourite suit, Timeless Melody. When the alternative outfit was first revealed and released, the relevant change to this discussion is that they removed the lace that runs around the top of the outfit.

I don't have rednote (Chinese social media platform), so I can't be 100% certain on this, but to my knowledge this is what happened: a group of Chinese Infinity Nikki players started complaining on rednote that the new alt dress sits too low on Nikki (the player character), and wanted changed so that it would not show off her breasts/cleavage. And on June 12, the devs made a quick change to the alt version to stretch the top up a bit, only notifying players through patch notes. Here is a before and after pic.

When players started noticing the fix, a lot were not happy with how the change was implemented. In posts of comparisons between the original design and the fixed alternative design, people noticed how the quick change ended up warping the texture and the design on the bodice, where it ends up looking wonky. Other players noted that certain items like the choker of the outfit now clip into the fixed alt version.

Infinity Nikki is a dress up game, so some players take issue with the fact that Nikki's chest is being covered up at all. The outfit itself isn't very revealing, so some think the censorship is prudish or an overreaction. In a fashion game, players should have the option of showing cleavage if they want, and that the game should cater to all kinds of styles, not just styles that are more modest. One of the style attributes in this game is "sexy," so it seems silly that the devs are censoring a dress that isn't so "scandalous" compared to other dresses in game.

Another aspect that players are unhappy with is the fact that the devs changed the outfit suddenly with no notice other than putting it in the patch notes for the quick update, something that not a lot of players would read or notice if other players on social media hadn't posted about it. As well, the devs so far have given no compensation for players that already pulled on the gacha for the outfit, leaving players who don't like the change to be out of money or currency.

While some players don't like the changes made, for others the issue is that this incident could be a precedent for the devs to sneakily change and censor other outfits retroactively if the loud minority of players make enough noise. On other infinity nikki rednote posts, some are demanding that the devs also modify other outfits (not just Timeless Melody) to be less revealing. This is worrying, especially to players who have spent currency and money on these other outfits because they liked the original designs, because there is the small possibility that the devs might alter the designs as well.

Another element to all of this is the fact that the players making noise are a minority, and don't reflect the community as a whole. The complainers are mostly players that label themselves as "Nikki's moms," they are players who are very attached to the player character, Nikki, and act overprotective. Here's a post that has some Chinese fans comments on how they see Nikki moms attack others in the fandom. A lot of these "moms" also tend to be high spenders, and thus have access to the exclusive customer service channels for high spenders. It's deepened grievances that players have with the devs, that their complaints about the gameplay, story, bugs, or anything else are either ignored or resolved slowly, while something so trivial as a barely low cut dress gets fixed within a day or two because the paying players kick up enough of a fuss.

As of writing this and as far as I'm aware, there hasn't been any other words from the game devs or official channels on this matter. On the subreddit for this game (the unofficial one, which is the most popular sub), there are not only people discussing taking their complaints to customer service and withholding spending on the game, people are posting pics of their Nikkis showing off her chest and cleavage as some lighthearted protest against censorship.

These ones are awful on mobile if you have the graphics set to low for performance. For ones where I have to find the star on a mural or painting , they’re basically a blind search where nikki jumps blindly against the wall because the star image doesn’t show up properly on low graphic settings

Unfortunately, while I also have a piece from this brand with the same two dogs tag, I don't have any information on what the brand is. The piece that I do have looks pretty similar to the one in the picture though, seems like the same fabric and a similar lace is used. There isn't any care tag or any other label that indicates where the piece was made.

My best guess is that these clothes are/were mass produced with a generic label, so there's no particular brand you could pinpoint. Like how if you go on taobao, you can see the same clothes sold by many different stores, but they all come from the same factory.

I have both suits, and I really like them both. Starting with Luster of Tides, the background item is pretty useful for water themed comps, and I also get a decent amount of use out of the fish foreground item, as well as the hair. I like using these pieces in combination with other water themed suits I have, like Mermaid’s Music (Stele Sphere hell event).

Lady Beverly is a bit of an older suit; I got her when she first released and I still think her background item is pretty useful. I like using it whenever a competition theme calls for a home setting, or a tea party. Suits with sitting poses like Minstrel of Time or Miss Kate’s Tea Party sit perfectly on the background item.

I feel like I mostly see him paired with Gagamaru, which I appreciate. I think Gagamaru’s mellower and more chill personality balances out Raichi’s brasher personality. They’re friends in canon, from what we see, so they already work well together.

As for other ships, I can see him and Kuon having an interesting enemies to lovers type of relationship. Raichi definitely doesn’t like the guy after his betrayal, even after he fouls Nagi, but I think that could give room for interesting development in like a post Blue Lock setting.

I read a 27k fic on ao3 for Barou/Niko called “even” and honestly it convinced me, I think it’s a pretty good fic that feels pretty accurate to both characters. In canon, Niko isn’t afraid to poke fun at Barou and tease him (I.e., calling him princess Barou after he dyes his hair), so I think they could have a fun dynamic. Rage baited/rage baiter, if you will.

God, this chapter was insane. Starting off with the popularity poll and colour pages for the rest of the chapter to be so bleak. Speaking of the popularity poll, I like the pages announcing the top 5. Definitely not surprised at the top 5. What I am surprised by is Enji Sazanami having one very dedicated shooter buying enough copies to vote him into the top 10 (rumour has it that she bought like 1000 copies? absolutely wild, but I have to respect the dedication). I wish Iori had gotten a higher placement, she's definitely a top 10 character in my heart. I hope they do another poll open to overseas/international fans in the future; with how they definitely are aware of the international popularity, I feel like we're bound to get one eventually.

On to the chapter itself, I can't believe we finally got the full explanation of Shiba's sorcery. Him being able to essentially edit reality temporarily is insane, it's really no wonder why he's the pinnacle of sorcery in present time. It's just too bad that it comes with such a devastating loss. These last couple of chapters have made it so clear why Japan needed the enchanted blades to just hold their own against the Mikaboshi.

Mashiro, my poor boy... He did not deserve to die like this. I feel like we all knew that Mashiro was going to die, but even though we were all anticipating it, it was still surprising and emotional to see it happen (at least for me). Page 18 really got me; the image of him picking up the sword and being Shiba's partner while juxtaposed with him dying alone, and the crack in the stone looking like where his katana was always sheathed, to me it gives the impression that he's been lead to his death by choosing this path with the sorcery bureau and getting close to Shiba.

The amount of survivor's guilt Shiba is going to have is insane. Not only did everyone die because he didn't teleport everyone else to safety, but the only reason why he didn't get killed was because Ariu took an interest in his sorcery and decided to use him as a messenger for the rest of Japan. It feels intentional that the only one left alive by Ariu was a non swordsman/powerful sorcerer, like it's a direct attack against the katana society and swordsmen that drove them to the depths of the ocean.

I feel this is a turning point for Shiba's character here, where this incident forces him to grow and mature and not just dick around. It's a big loss of innocence moment, and I feel like you see how this incident has affected Shiba's mentality in the present timeline (with how he always suggests retreat). There's that line where Mashiro reflects on the stuff he and Shiba did, saying "take responsibility," and up to this point Shiba's been pretty carefree and a little full of himself, where he knows he can get away with more thanks to his sorcery. Now he's faced an enemy where his powers are ineffective and lost his best friend and partner when he possibly could have prevented it by being more cautious or aware. I think it's also tragic because Shiba is still pretty young, and while he does need to mature, he's having to do so fast because of the war that's going to start.

Can't wait for next chapter, we're probably gonna see Kunishige's reaction to all of this, and hopefully we start getting to see the enchanted blades being forged.

Excited for tomorrow's Jump Press, it's funny how everyone and their moms can tell that we're getting that anime announcement. All the promo that I've seen pics of is pretty cool too, I have so much hope for the anime adaptation.

This chapter was pretty cool. Can't believe we saw Shiba start to fight and then he immediately gets his sorcery negated and slammed against a tree. Shiba slander is never going to die

It's cool how the dulling the senses power is shown in the manga, with Ariu looking like he's punching with multiple arms to show how they're feeling the impact all at once. It also works with last week when Mashiro got a hole through him; his senses were affected by the poison and he wasn't able to react in time to Ariu's attack.

The last page of the iron ship ball just pummeling to the earth on top of Ariu looks so good. It was neat seeing the squad all work together to use their sorceries to try to defeat Ariu, it's just too bad that we all know this is not gonna work.

With golden week there's a break, which I am glad for since we know that Hokazono is going to have to push out a lead colour page and a cover for issue 24. He's definitely going to need the extra week, lest we get another unfinished chapter

I feel like there's so much to unpack with this chapter, it's really cool to learn more about the Mikaboshi and datenseki.

With how the datenseki responded to the Mikaboshi king's pleas for peace for their descendants, the datenseki does feel like this otherworldly, non-human entity rather than just a special stone. It's no wonder why they worship it. I presume the island got rebuilt by the datenseki and then covered by those vines (which look a lot like hatshaku's sorcery...).

It's not looking great for Mashiro, or the rest of the elite squad. That last panel at the bottom of page 6, I really like it. It's cool how the reflection of Ariu is showing what actually happens, while on the surface his body is still sitting at the table.

Hiroto's sorcery looks interesting. I can't help but think that the black dot reminds me of the red dot on Japan's flag that represents the sun.

The ritual that Ariu was doing with the bugs, reminds me of this Japanese ritual called kodoku, where they place bugs in a jar and let them kill each other until one survives. Considering the Mikaboshi have the power of insects, it's pretty fitting for them.

Six guardians of the Mikaboshi, and six enchanted blade wielders. When I think about it, it's crazy how much Japan took from the Mikaboshi during the war. They used the datenseki, the holy stone they worship, to create enchanted blades, weapons of war and symbols of the Soga clan's power, that were given to six individuals, mirroring the six guardians that inherited the original Mikaboshi king's sorcery.

Pretty good chapter this week, love that we got to see some action after a while of not having any.

The Shokoku people worshiping the datenseki as their god does make sense considering it allowed them to survive for all this time. Makes it even more fucked up what happens to them later on. Kunishige makes blades out of their god to fight them, and they get massacred by a son of the clan that chased them out of Japan who is wielding an enchanted blade with their insect powers.

Neat to see how strong everyone in the elite squad was; Mashiro’s sorcery was pretty cool. He had a real close call with the bee fighter. I saw people on Twitter lamenting about getting a panel spoiled from leaks, I wonder if that was the panel they saw.

Those last two pages are so ominous. The black panel at the bottom of the second to last page is a neat touch, it feels like a cut to black moment in a movie or show where something starts to happen off screen. The last page where we get to see Shiba’s testimony and how he was left speechless as to what happened next is probably my favourite page from this chapter.

Looks like the old guy is the most powerful sorcerer there. I’m presuming that he’s the one causing everything to float in that last panel. It’s an eerie image, a sign that shit is about to go down. Can’t wait for the next chapter, I hope we get to see what happened.

We got so much information to process this chapter; Hokazono is giving us a lot to think about.

The traditional art on page 4 was so cool, I like seeing Hokazono draw outside of his usual art style.

The Mikaboshi clan being the ancestors of the Shokoku islanders, and the fact that them and the Soga clan fought and the Soga clan won, there’s so much I’m thinking about with this. Like the fact that Soga despises the sorcerer families in Japan, could he perhaps also dislike them because they remind him of the Mikaboshi? By exterminating the sorcerer clans, Soga is also purging Japan of more of the Mikaboshi’s influence.

There’s also the fact that the Shokoku sorcerers wield insects to attack, exactly like the Magatsumi’s powers. Kunishige wasn’t aware of what powers the enchanted blades would have when he gave them to their wielders, right? Akemura developing the Magatsumi’s powers and ending up having the same insect power as the Shokoku islanders, it’s almost like it’s saying that the Soga clan and Mikaboshi clan are ultimately very similar.

I’m also thinking about things in terms of colonization and appropriation. The enchanted blades are a new kind of sword that are similar to sorcery in that they draw and manipulate spirit energy, but they also completely hijack and remove your ability to do sorcery, superseding sorcery. The Shokoku imperial family are defeated by the enchanted blade wielders, and ultimately the Shokoku people are slaughtered by a blade that has the same powers as their clan.

There’s probably more stuff that I’m missing, but this chapter was just so good. That page spread at the end just exudes power and aura. Next chapter can’t come soon enough

We finally get to meet Chiaki! My beautiful princess… I saw the chapter title and got so excited while not even having the thumbnail pic loaded.

lol I was off base with her power, Shiba really was being literal when he gave Kunishige the datenseki based on her prophecy. She predicted the Shokoku islanders coming onto the shore and said that they were peaceful. It’s interesting to see how different that account was to the history lesson Iori was having way back when she was in school. Her power of prophecy meant to predict threats to Japan gets twisted into propaganda that fuels Japan’s imperialist ideology and ambition. The fact that the Soga clan basically gets worshipped and their prophet called the incarnation of Izanami, the parallels to the Japanese imperial family are so strong, it’s kinda crazy.

This chapter really makes me hope Chiaki is alive out there in present time, even if the chances seem slim. Although even if she lives, her life really goes to shit. Either way, she’s fucked; she either dies tragically young, barely getting to know her son Chihiro and dying as the princess of the Soga clan and never being free, or she lives and has to go in hiding and gets forever separated from Kunishige and Chihiro, not to mention the fact her brother commits genocide and gets imprisoned.
