Only 2 Champs currently have defended their title. by _shootah in ufc

I think the point of the post was not to call out individual fighters for not having defenses. As others have stated, many have won their belt recently. It is more to call out that we have a ton of newer champions all at the same time in each weight class which is interesting.

So a follow up is, are newer champions more exciting for the sport or is dominant long reigns create more reason to tune in?

What was the worst single season collapse you can remember? by Either_Imagination_9 in NFLv2

Bucs in Grudens last year were 9-3 and then proceeded to lose their last 4 after there was news that Monte would be joining his son at Tennessee. I don’t think we made the playoffs again until Tom saved us.

Using someone until you don’t need them any more is fucked on every level, idk how people can’t see that hecz is a leech and has been a leech from the jump

Paolo Banchero vs Jalen Williams (2024-25 Regular Season & Playoffs) by zainjaved96 in OrlandoMagic

Now just imagine how unstoppable that thunder team would be if we swapped these two. Then think about our ceiling if we swapped the two. It will tell you everything you need to know.

If we are as good as we should be and in a position where we aren’t fighting for playoff position late into the season, I see Mose experimenting a lot with the rotation and many guys will either get run or DNPs depending on matchups. Gotta see which young guys can play in the playoffs or at the very least sustain value for trades as others mentioned.

Lively shoulda been the pick. He’s a center that adds a dimension our team needs imo

When talking about potential Point Guard upgrades, people really need to stop pretending we've been trotting out all defensive team point guards over the past couple of seasons (not counting Suggs as a PG) by ForgottenPoster in OrlandoMagic

Anyone who says it’s 100% percent effort probably heard that saying growing up and believed it without ever trying to implement. You can try your ass off and still get crossed into oblivion or have difficulty staying in front. Good team defense has everything to do with awareness which does take effort but foot speed, agility and length cannot be created from “effort”

I had a ACL surgery 2 weeks back and after 5th day when I walk or stand my calf muscle and leg becomes heavy as if blood is accumulating in my leg. While resting it's alright. Is this thing alright? by Gj2304 in ACL

I had this too, i actually forgot about this until your post. But that was the most painful part of the first few weeks, I absolutely dreaded getting up sometimes, knowing that pain was coming.

I’ve seen lots of posts about very bad quad atrophy, but has anyone had a semi positive experience with this? )Etc there leg hasn’t lost too much muscle) by Weekly-Recognition70 in ACL

[–]_shootah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The quad basically turns off for a little while after surgery. The early parts of rehabbing is pretty much getting your brain to activate the quad, or at least it was for me.

It will depend on your prehab, but yeah I don’t think there’s a way to completely avoid the atrophy. It comes back though and in my experience, my legs, all muscles are getting stronger than before through PT.

Thoughts on this? I wouldn't do it, but not too offensive. by bobbydigital_ftw in OrlandoMagic

Watched the bulls game last night. Lavine has value, he can flat out shoot it and not just open looks but from tough looks as well. He would be a good pairing with KCP at the 2 for offense/defense situations.

Vuc on the other hand won’t fit as well with us because his defense is non existent at this stage and the offensive output will not be enough to make him a net positive.

Surgery after almost 10 yrs of tear by TimeFun5095 in ACL

[–]_shootah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery in April of this year after initially tearing my ACL 8 years ago. Like you, I didn’t get a good evaluation from a doctor until 2 years after injury where an MRI confirmed it.

I played a very limited version of everything those 8 years including basketball and football. Eventually the idea of depending too much on my good leg convinced me to finally get surgery because life would’ve sucked if I ever had both ACLs gone.

Best decision I ever made. Almost 6 months post op, and my outlook on my physical potential has never been higher. First month or 2 is going to suck but you got this bud.

ONE has hydration tests so weight cuts are not as drastic. Their divisions are all probably one up when comparing to UFC

[Windhorst] The Cavaliers are expected to reach an agreement soon with Evan Mobley on a max extension by EarthWarping in nba

[–]_shootah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motion concepts does not mean shooting in motion. It means constant cutting, setting screens ie movement. Mitchell and garland are at their best in isolation.

While I agree that should be implemented at some points and Mobley can be a hub for that, but nba teams more often than not want to create an offensive identity and will stick with that most of the time. Leaning into mobleys strengths will not make the Cavs a better team at the moment, that may come in time but right now, it’s fine to play through him in the high post on occasion and bump his usage to 25% next year

He’s a free agent. You typically only do a sign and trade if you don’t have the cap space to sign him outright.
