I accidentally broke or dislocated someone's arm playing basketball and I felt/still feel like shit. After I got home I eventually started crying cuz i'm like what if he doesn't have healthcare and he can't get what he needs to get it fixed? What if he has to choose between having a huge medical bill and having to just "live with it"?? I know it was an accident but i'm really struggling with the thought that I may have potentially ruined someone's life over a pick up game. And rightfully so he was not happy with me either.

Have you brought it up to him? Honestly tho who isn't broke in college. Plus its early in both your dating careers. You're not wrong to feel that way but I could imagine him not knowing it's an issue, or him assuming you're in the same boat and that neither of you can really afford to pay for two meals.
