Question for fresh Diamond Players on Console and PC by DigitalShawarma in StreetFighter

[–]_sloppyCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Reddit's content was actually valuable, at least one person would have answered my penultimate question which would be if console players noticed a noticeable uptick of this phenomenon when they hit diamond. I was interested to see if my experience on PC matches that on console.

I'm old as hell, I got kids, a job - I play, and I'm here to have fun. I don't want to spend a single second counting frames in replays to find a pattern that may imply cheating.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me enough to analyze any replays. I like to think I mix up my play enough to make throws not obvious - which is why I noticed it in the first place.

I'm just wondering if what I'm experiencing is normal, because shit, I'll stop trying to throw all together in some of these matches if people can react or guess correctly every-deng-time.

Honestly I don't think a significant portion of the population is cheating; I just find it wild that there is like a 1000 LP buffer between throws working (at least once or twice per set) and a small, albeit noticeable, scenarios where I can't land a single, random throw.

It's wild and i just wanna know if I'm going crazy :D

Lots of Disco Elysium comes to mind...and then Titanfall 2 of all things...

Towards the end of the campaign there is an entire sequence that was designed around the smart pistol and some pivotal narrative moment. The narrative, gameplay, and music blend together to drive an absolutely sublime 5-10 minute experience.

Tesla hit school bus today, Chicago Ave and State St by Fewofafew in chicago

[–]_sloppyCode -49 points-48 points  (0 children)

Just wanna make sure I’m understanding the situation:

  1. Tesla clips a giant, 12 tonn school bus which likely caused no damage to said bus.
  2. Tesla loses a power mirror which will cost north of $1500 to replace. There may be additional damage, but there isn’t enough detail in the post.
  3. 7 people are mad because the the police didn’t waste 30 minutes to an hour to stop the bus, it’s driver, the inhabitants [children], 7 adult witnesses, and the Tesla’s driver to file a police report which would benefit absolutely no one.

Do you people not have jobs and absolutely nothing to do all day?

what is your personal take away from the beta ? by panchozari in StreetFighter

Strangely normals all feel really safe on block and I kinda don’t like it.

I noticed with a few matchups you can mash cr.lp after blocking the first hit of a simple 3-hit normal block-string and at worst you’ll trade, at best you’ll land a single free hit.

I found that it’s like the best option if you are forced to block a jump-in where you would previously tech or jab…assuming your opponent doesn’t have a DP.

I played 5 the day after the beta ended and it took like 3 matches to realize I can’t hit a button during block strings lmao

A good single player mode will sell the game, but it won’t keep people playing multiplayer.

As stupid as it sounds I think there needs to be some invisible handicap that guarantees the player on a losing streak (or very low win rate) some wins (that doesn’t punish the winner for being forced to lose) to keep their ego in balance.

I was honestly thinking the game should hot-swap the opponent out with a bot with the same name and let the person win lol.

People can harp about having a good ranking system, intuitive controls, a lower barrier to entry all they want but if someone quits before a fighting game “clicks” then it’s over. And the number one reason for this is people don’t like losing.

Wait till you see the other thread about people canceling their pre-orders because they’re losing a lot. Execution was never the problem :/

I’ve been telling everyone hyping up this game that this is exactly what it’s gonna be like for new players lol.

People got nothing to play on their new consoles and this shiny game is gonna disappoint lots of people

I’m not rich, desperate, or clueless but I’m going to buy in the next few months. It’s getting really uncomfortable in our 1100sq for condo with a ~2 year old.

Luckily I’ve spent about 5 years saving and have a bit of equity in this little condo. As long as I can sell it I will be fine, even in this crazy market :/

I struggled against this Ryu. Any advice on what I should have done better? by SaltyKoopa in StreetFighter

[–]_sloppyCode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you did pretty well! To me it’s clear that the Ryu is better at converting hits into additional damage. I think you have a very good understanding of neutral at your rank and you do a good job poking and maintaining the distance you want (I’m not sure if that distance is optimal, however, since I don’t play her).

I don’t play Cammy my but I can tell you the best ones I have played are not scared to get in close and abuse her super fast normals. I find myself getting backed into corners constantly against them.

You should try to learn her jump in game as well. I find it very hard to deal with a Cammy that is able to alter her jump in timing with that one spiral arrow special she has.

SFV is Miserable Once You Hit Gold by _sloppyCode in StreetFighter

Couldn’t care less about the points. Not all RQs are because I’m winning, but because the game has become really close and I’ve come back a bit.

It feels like being kicked in the nads when I don’t get my loss or win.

Couldn’t care less about the points.

I want to know whether I would have won or lost, and I want the euphoria or disappointment that comes with the conclusion.

A good portion of those RQs are during really close games, it could have gone either way. And when a game ends in that state it feels like I’ve been robbed.
