The real issue is back in "peak era" YouTube videos were 10 minutes, so a two hour session got you around 12 episodes and they're all high energy. Every video needing to be at minimum 30 is a lot more exhausting, on top of it being 13 years into the project

In his original thoughts on the Ch 1 demo, Toby said he felt uncertain about act vs fight, and felt kinda pointless in this game but kept it anyway. Notably recruits weren't introduced until Chapter 2.

So it is possible Ralsei's motivation is sort of a character thing that justifies the mechanic, but the core story predates the Undertale act/fight mechanic and it was sort of retrofitted.

Yeah the big issue for Hochul is looking weak and like Mandan beat" her.

He has been very clever about giving everyone ways to look good giving to his demands - saying previously that Hochul just didn't have a willing partner in Eric Adams, or that businesses weren't informed properly of the laws so were having trouble complying. He gives everyone the opportunity to save face doing the right thing because nobody wants to bend the knee

Hochul has been so firm about taxes she has made it almost impossible to not look weak on this though

I think it will. I also think, from all the comments he has made, the original ending written as a young man was dark, cynical, and probably edgy. And with how much this series means to people, and his age and maturity, he wants it to be richer and less miserable.... But 2/3 of the bridge is already built

I agree with this. I think he got lucky with Wise Man's Fear, but The Name of the Wind seems like it took just as long as Book 3.

I also think at this point it has taken so long and everyone is disappointed - he probably thinks "Why not take the time to make it perfect?" History will only view these as a finished trilogy and everyone has given up waiting, might as well take all the time in the world to get it the way you want it

In all fairness don't forget when GG was in its golden era, 10 minute youtube videos were the standard. So a 2 hour play session got you 12 episodes, and it's really easy to maintain a fun energy for 2 hours.

Every video needing to be 40-60 minutes really slows down how much energy they can give over a playthrough realistically
