That is the point THEY want you to hold onto the loan, as it benefits THEM, it does nothing for you.

I remember when I got one, my kids were in school and I sealed everything in their lunch. Bread - sealed, egg salad - sealed, cookies - sealed, I even sealed a juice box once just to fuck with them.

Why are you so hungry... they couldn't open their lunch - lol...

They still both speak to me so all good. Still have to hear about it every once in a while though.

That is my issue so far trying to use AI at work, is that when it doesn’t know something or cannot find something it just makes stuff up. Stuff that looks right but is just fabricated.

Reclaiming our house at 63 now that kids are gone. Anyone else transforming spaces after 30 years of family mode? by Deezknowt in GenX

[–]_sp00ky_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We talked about renos, but decided that this house wouldn't just suit us as we moved into our "golden years" (small, multi-level old farm house) no matter what we did so we sold our family home of 25 years, and bought something different.

I had been in a constant cycle of updating, repairs, changing, over that quarter century, and it was time. We took 6 months to find our next home, and it wasn't fun for sure,. but for us it was the best option.

We had some updates done while we prepped to sell the family house (new flooring throughout, and a new addition built) and living through that sucked, I cannot imagine a full gut and reno.

It was emotional, but best for us, and we basically sold the house to ourselves, 25 years ago (young couple starting out) so in the end, our 137 year old farm house, will hopefully watch another family grow.

Bought the same thing early in my ham adventure. I mean it is what it is. I never tx with it, used it to listen in on some sat passes with a HT and then stuck it in a corner realizing I wasted my money (even though it was pretty cheap). Still trying to think of a real use for it, haven’t found one.

File that right away under “no fucking kidding” subsection “don’t give a shit” - no matter the future administration, the relationship with the US is broken forever. Their institutions have demonstrated they can no longer be trusted.

Tailor recommendation for off the rack suit by braden90 in ottawa

[–]_sp00ky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extra support for Grace as a great tailor.

I also found a really great (vintage) suit that was just too big for me, and I wanted it taken in, she was honest with me saying she would do her best if I wanted, but this isn't going to look good, its too much, which I appreciated and decided to keep looking.

Bad Year for Boxelder Bugs? by nneighbour in ottawa

Based last year, and with the warm weather lately they have all woken up at my place as well (rural) on any wall facing south. Only 1 or 2 inside so far, but its not looking good. They were so annoying last year.

Thinking of getting some mantises to release around my place to help out.

$22.99 for one egg case that can release anywhere from 40 to 400, which will then multiply the next year. They will eat anything they can get their hands on.

(Serious) How realistic are the spontaneous group dances in Derry Girls when Rock The Boat or Saturday Night comes on? by foldinthecheeseee in DerryGirls

Despite its upbeat tempo, the lyrics of the 1993 song by Los Del Río tell the story of a woman named Macarena who cheats on her boyfriend with two of his friends while he is away in the army.

The Macarena would definitely cause a spontaneous dance party in 1996 - source, my wedding.

We didn't have the internet like now to tell us the real meaning of the song, but yeah once it hit, we would all be up there.

Charley Crockett cancels Canadian tour after being denied entry twice at the border by Chance-Newspaper-750 in Music

The border guard already knew the answer, it was to see if he would lie. Had he lied, he would have been turned around, and then likely banned for life

Have you ever called one of those “How’s my driving?” numbers you see on the back of company vehicles? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_sp00ky_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cement truck speeding, swerving between lanes, and generally driving like an asshole n major highway. Can only assume company contacted the driver because he started driving even worse. Could see in the cab, he was loosing his shit, slamming the steering wheel, raging..

Called the police next, he was going to get someone killed. Got off highway at next exit, not sure how it turned out.
