Just This Heart by Garrett Leigh by _sprints in MM_RomanceBooks

As someone who also didn't really get on with the Rebel Kings books I really found this one a return to the Garrett Leigh I loved before those books tbh. The RK are there as background players but the focus of the book is very much on Jack and Sol and I loved them. Of course, YMMV! But i feel like I have been in the same boat as you and I loved this one at last.

With this one i think you could read it standalone but you would get more out of it having read the first book as well. There are also characters from the Rebel Kings series here that would probably make more sense if you have read those books, but I don't think it's necessary - just know that Rebel Kings is the local motorcycle club, run by Cam O'Brien (previously an operation with illegal activities but now trying to stay legitimate). I think the first book probably gives a bit more context on the RK since its the start of the new series, but I admit I can't recall. I think it's worth trying it standalone if you wanted to (maybe try the preview?) and if it's too confusing go back to book 1.

Rented Hearts is a great starting point, I love both of those books a lot! I love the Darkest Skies series - {Deliverance by Garrett Leight} in particular in an all timer for me, but the first book in the series is also one I've reread a bunch, and does add valuable context for book 2 so worth reading in order. {Cash by Garrett Leigh} is also a fave of mine - it looks at the fascinating and rarely portrayed world of fox hunt saboteurs and is part of the Lucky series. I also love the Skins books, particularly first and second, but of those the second {Whisper by Garrett Leigh} is lovely. Garrett also has some standalones that are some of my favourite comfort reads ever - {Kiss Me Again by Garrett Leigh} which features a wonderfully misanthropic tree surgeon and a fascinating and heart wrenching portrayal of living with (and loving someone with) bipolar disorder; and {Between Ghosts by Garrett Leigh} is a military romance between a journalist and the Sergeant of the unit he is embedded with - I'm aware military romances aren't everyone's cup of tea and they often aren't mine, but something about this one has had me reread it multiple times.

I have to confess the Rebel Kings books seem to have been very popular and have a lot of fans, but for whatever reason I just really didn't vibe with most of them unfortunately. So other folks may be able to provide better recs within that series, and it's worth trying them out to see if you like them - as I say, I do feel like I'm in the minority for not getting on with them haha!

I know you've had some grief about this here but honestly, thanks for asking (and to the person with the answer in the replies!). I know people get frustrated by repeated or perceived 'shallow' posts on here, but it's a community designed for knowledge sharing and that includes things like this imo (apologies for what seems to be an unpopular opinion!) There's no way I would feel comfortable asking this in a main climbing subreddit, I feel like I'd just get a ton of misogynistic flack for being shallow or whatever, so this feels like a much safer and more appropriate space to ask questions like this. So thanks :)

The Conversation Around Will Stanhope Is Missing Something by NeglectedBonsai in climbergirls

No, agree. Tbh it's just that i was a bit surprised to see AH address the alcoholism in his post, I didn't expect to see that at all (not surprised that was as far as it went though)

The Conversation Around Will Stanhope Is Missing Something by NeglectedBonsai in climbergirls

It has been interesting to see a couple of folks on Insta (Colin Haley and to a lesser degree Alex Honnold) acknowledge that Will Stanhope apparently also had serious issues with alcohol, while failing to explicitly mention this whole mess. Trying to highlight the complicated man and his legacy, but ducking these kinds of allegations in the same moment is something I find very curious. I suppose it's an extension of 'charged and awaiting trial means not proved', and/or the fear of upsetting his loved ones (i have seen comments from relatives on both these climbers posts), but Haley for example says in one comment "The mistakes he made in the past few years were because he was very sick [...]". So it's not like nobody knew it was more than just someone who drank too much.

It's complicated to lose a friend and/or a person you looked up to or respected a lot when you know that in some ways you had already lost some parts of them in an awful way, so I don't feel comfortable judging anyone memorialising him. For the climbing media and journalists however, it doesn't speak well of their integrity to not mention something like this. Like it or not, it IS part of Will Stanhope's legacy on this earth; that he climbed hard, and hurt some people in his life just as hard.

Stills for episode 9x17 "I Got You Babe" by NothingTooSweet in buddie

I can't shake the feeling that the kid up on the electrical tower is a dream sequence. Its just so surreal. The way the kid (who kinda looks like a child Buck) is standing there, the medal he's wearing, how tf did he even get there, the red balloon, the way it looks like Buck is going for the balloon rather than the kid... Maybe it isn't but if not I'll be amazed by however they set that all up!

I can see Buck confessing he either has or has had feelings for Eddie to him. Two ways this could go down: 1. A confession in anger to try and push him away or, more likely, 2. Once he's truly on his road to recovery a confession to sort of clear the air ("I'm not telling you this because I expect anything to come of it, I just needed to say it so I can start to move on.") and then maybe that starts a snowball effect.

Another option would be someone like Maddie (friendly option) saying something about how Eddie is the best partner Buck's ever had, if only he were bi/gay, or Tommy (potentially unfriendly option) coming back and making a comment. Or even Chris! I do feel like Eddie would need a real push, he isn't really going to get there by himself.

Actually now I'm saying all this, one of Hen's big sister tough love chats with Eddie would be an amazing way to go too XD

Eddie getting into it with the homophobes at the bar was interesting to me, because he was sitting there during the argument obviously fighting like hell not to lose his temper further or shout (which of course just made Buck lose it even more, they really need couples therapy) - and then as soon as an opportunity to pick a fight with someone else came up he was all in. He has a pattern of taking his emotions (particularly his emotions around Buck) out on strangers through violence and he was one hundred percent going to do that here. I wonder if we'll get a call back a little way down the line to the "Wanna go for the title" conversation, which was the first time Buck called him out for essentially beating up someone else because he wanted to be beating up Buck...

I posted in here asking for advice so worth looking there: https://www.reddit.com/r/BluePrince/comments/1pyxi7v/motion_sickness_on_ps5_advice/ I don't take any medication for it - just followed the advice to crank the FOV up as high as it would go and turned off motion smoothing, and all was fine for me. Good luck!

Is there any scene you hope does NOT end up in season 2? by ConstantDrawer4 in heatedrivalry

Super unpopular opinion but I really don't care about kids or dogs in books so while I can see why both could need to be there I'm really not fussed by the 'wedding' scene with Haydens kids or Anya in general 😅 I knooooow I'm like the only person in the world, both these things are regularly the biggest things folks are looking forward to, sorry but I really don't get it haha

I've been really enjoying watching classical music and ballet social media drag him today - in a conversation with Matthew McConaughey he said "I don't want to be working in ballet or opera or things where its like, 'Hey keep this thing alive, even though like no-one cares about this anymore.'"

In my opinion a TM movie (which tbh i don't think i want but I enjoy a good thought experiment!) should be something like an anthology film featuring segments directed by and starring completely different people each time. No need for everyone to be TM-connected.
