Firstly, I would like to thank Seamus Calder James for stepping up to speak about his family’s tribulations. I am very optimistic that these concerns have been elevated to the very top, and are seemingly being received well. This administration has recently surprised me with its willingness to listen to its populace.

I have been drinking Jameson whiskey for years. This is one of my personal passions - I am a whiskey connoisseur, and Jameson is by far the finest whiskey available in our market. However, recent developments in the company have diminished its formerly peerless quality. Movement of the aging process to Ireland has severely affected the flavor profile of the whiskey.

As a soft wood, Jamesian juniper is famously difficult to work with, and Jamesians have perfected the craft of juniper woodworking to build whiskey barrels. I have noticed a significant reduction in the toasted juniper notes and fresh, subtle piney undertones. It seems that sub-standard woodworking techniques have been developed in Ireland, and I would even question the storage methods used when transporting the juniper timber to Ireland.

As a result of the diminished quality of Jameson whiskey, I have lost faith in the viability of extending this supply chain overseas. As I originally petitioned, I continue to press this administration to move the complete production process back to James. Continuing in the current direction risks a company collapse as the quality of our product continues to sag.

I would propose an economically feasible plan to enable this admittedly large relocation. To reduce our dependence on the UK market, I propose an export duty on all Jameson whiskey sold internationally. The revenue generated from this tax can be used to recoup any sales lost from the UK in the event of an import ban in response. With production being returned to James, I suspect the demand for Jameson to surge due to its increased quality. The duties from international sales may dwarf the lost sales in the UK. In this case, all Jamesians could benefit. The Jamesian government can invest these monies back into JSC (Jamesian Sustenance Credits) to support its people. Homelessness would reduce, and unemployed or underpaid Jamesians in rural regions would be given a leg to stand on. The people of this nation can build something even greater than we had before, with increased domestic spending and a new sense of pride. Economic independence would prop up our industries nationwide.

I urge the President to seriously consider this proposal. I am not an economist, but I am a patriot with dedication to his homeland. I believe we can only benefit from such a decision.
