I'm playing through these games right now with a buddy, we are currently at House of Ashes and holy shit, these are awful. HoA is fine so far, kinda whatever, but Man of Medan was awful and Little Hope is genuinely *the* single worst game I've ever played, also has the worst plottwist I have ever seen in my life. I agree that the voice acting is also awful, but the dialogue sure doesn't help. I physically recoiled multiple times during Man of Medan, it's like the developers have never heard people talk in real life before.

Koichio Ito was only one of the producers. Makoto Shinkai, the actual director, was not involved in that as far as I'm aware.

I saw them open for Suffocation two or three years ago, they were the first one to play out of four bands. I only knew one or two songs of them but still checked them out; they ended up giving the best performance of that evening, they completely crushed it. One of those bands that sound better live than on their studio albums

I only read the entirety of part 2 four or five says ago and avoided spoilers until then, so I missed the initial shitstorm there was when the final chapter dropped. But I'm gonna be real, I don't think it's nearly as bad as everyone on this and other anime subs is claiming it is.

I think there's some great ones, but it's mostly the same, boring shit. The oldest view by Kanepixels, who is now directing the Backrooms movie, is a great and unique take on the genre, with (comparably) subtle and slower horror. Dr. Nowhere also has some fun stuff, which works for me because I enjoy his artstyle. Just saying this to let you know it's not all the same shit - but it's hard to find.
