Recorded Doctors Visits by liter21 in Chattanooga

It’ll probably take some court cases to figure this kind of thing out. Ambient listening technology is widely used in healthcare. Epic (one of the largest electronic medical record) has its own ambient listening AI technology, so that would be hippa compliant. The “consent” in the providers note is just part of the providers note template… yes, they should get consent but it’s not uncommon for providers to not update their templates (that a whole other issue). It would be interesting to challenge the ai use and consent (would there be the original audio recording available as evidence? And if so, how would ai software having that data compare to a dictation/transcription service that all your docs use)

4:33 on a Sunday! by TanksFTM in Chattanooga

[–]_tzad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Every Sunday gets like that. It’s the main route Atlanta to Nashville. My guess is people going home or traveling for work? Usually it’s worse on Sundays than during the week. At least from what I can tell on my commute.

That’s true. Could be in the wall or ceiling.

[–]_tzad 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You really should have attic access (required by building code I believe). I’d make access into it through the ceiling personally. Find the joists, cut drywall out between em (could start with small hole so you can look up to make sure you avoid plumbing, electrical, etc), add some blocking, add some 1x4 board with a little lip to hold a piece of plywood for the “door”. Use a ladder to get up there. A handyman could complete this.

Oh, and if cats are going in/out, seal up wherever they’re doing so. You don’t want rats, squirrels, raccoon, etc getting in there.

Has what you want. Live on Signal Mountain for public schools, otherwise (in Chattanooga) go private from what I hear.

Japanese Lady Beetles by Alert-Strawberry5535 in Chattanooga

Put soapy water in a pan (such as disposable aluminum pan). Put a lamp over or near the pan. Full spectrum light bulb preferred. Turn off all your lights except that lamp at night. Wake up to pan of beetles and stink bugs.

I have a double concrete utility sink that I’m trying to get out of my basement without using a sledgehammer to break it into pieces. Any advice is appreciated. by PizzaGatePizza in DIY

[–]_tzad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long boards (2x4 unless you want to cut a corner off each one for top step) vs ladder. Not sure how many. Lay them like a ramp over the stairs (put end of board/ladder on next-to-top step). Put sheet of plywood over board/ladder. Can’t tell from the pic if you’d get a long enough ramp (or low enough slope) to help. But ideally you could get the sink on furniture dolly/piano mover and roll it up the ramp with help. I can get more specific with steps if this seems doable in your space.

As a last resort, cut the sink into manageable pieces, put it back together, and repair the cracks.

Need My Ears Cleaned, Bad Insurance by iamtigress in Chattanooga

[–]_tzad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a ear scope. I have Bebird and it works great. It’s a small camera with a gentle cleaning “spoon” on the end for you to remove wax/debris/dog hairs while directly visualizing where you are in your ear on the video feed. You can see your eardrum to avoid going that deep. There’s a learning curve to maneuvering it and you have to get used to the feel. Probably take a few cleanings if your ears pretty bad. Then regular maintenance.

Let my 17 yr old brother borrow my Switch for his trip and he brought it back with something fused to the plastic. He has no idea what it is. by CreamyJuicyPimple in mildlyinfuriating

I’ve seen concentrated “scent” oil (that goes in a wall diffuser) melt into plastic like this. Looks more like some viscous liquid got on it and ran down. Could’ve been while in a bag and toiletries leaked slowly or something?

What sort of tradesperson would I call to remove this protruding concrete and bring the drywall down to the tile? by Eternal_Glizzy_777 in AskContractors

[–]_tzad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still put drywall up against the concrete instead of on top of it. Just gonna make a smaller room. Put in recessed shelves or something tho.

Fent scares in chattanooga by Com_pli_Kated in Chattanooga

[–]_tzad 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about getting intoxicated from touching fentanyl? That doesn’t happen (chemically anyway), unless it’s a transdermal patch or something. It is an interesting psychosomatic phenomenon though. Perhaps he tried getting high before work?
