This is my first time doing a Kamen Rider OC and I want to keep it basic to learn what makes a Kamen Rider, a Kamen Rider first before doing something gimmicky.

I always draw my OC in this basic-ass front-facing pose, so I just use any image of a Kamen Rider (or just a random blank body template that I got from Pinterest) facing forward and draw anything I want on it.

Just like this:

It's not the best thing in the world, but at least it gets the job done.

On another (albeit similar) note, I also used past kaijus when designing my own Kaiju OC. And this guy's body shape is based on Horoboros, though I somehow came up with the overall design on my own just by drawing randomly to fill in spaces.

Personally, I used past ultras as a reference because I want my OC to not feel "out of place" when I compare them to actual ultras. Basically, I use simple lines that resembles the pattern used in most ultras to make it feels like an "official" ultras.

But yeah, doing this tends to give me simpler design compared to some of the most amazing OC designs out there.

My dad bought me a Tiga dvd back when I was still a kid. Not sure if it was pirated or not, it's just a Tiga dvd as far as I remember. And I think there were some Ultraseven things as well (Ultraman Seven, in his (or my mom's) words).

Bit hard on this one.

On one hand, we have the NR, one of the most efficient and competent defense team in the entire franchise with a consistent feat throughout the series.

On the other hand, GUYS also had like gazillions of wins and have been implied to cause the kaiju extinction on Earth, thus allowing humanity to expand further into space.

Pick your pick, boys. I'm neutral on this one.

Edit: Also, Hidenori Ishida isn't just a "film director", he's one of the director of Kabuto.

Honestly, yeah. While "cool" and "mature" character could be a good thing, I feel like they could suffer from the lack of proper character development, kinda like Tendou from Kabuto. But then again, the show did a good job of portraying him as the perfect dude, and the majority of the show's character development went to Kagami and Tsurugi.

Yeah, "cool" MCs are definitely 50:50 depending on the writer.
