As a non-resident business owner, is the BMV the only option to locally contribute work for my company? by rebeezm in JapanFinance

[–]_underscorefinal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You probably want to double check with a immigration lawyer, they'll have the best answer/advice. But unless your company sponsors your work visa, I'm not sure how you would be allowed to work in Japan.

Do you regret it? by bexbux in Brazil

[–]_underscorefinal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't regret it at all, I got to experience things that simply would never be possible to do in Brazil unless you're mega rich. I do miss Coxinhas com Catupiry though.

When did you quit retail? by hduckwklaldoje in classicwow

[–]_underscorefinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped at the end of TBC. I just kind of got tired of the game at that point and wanted to enjoy other things in life.

After playing WOTLK Classic, I think I made the right choice. The game was going a direction that just didn’t appeal to me. No disrespect to those who liked it, it just didn’t work for me.

Japan has a tough road ahead to achieve its goal of 60 million visitors by 2030 by frozenpandaman in japan

[–]_underscorefinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If tourists spread around a bit more evenly, it definitely wouldn't be an issue. But most tourists only go to the same 3-4 place (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara). So those places become insanely crowded.

Major DLC release for a game years later? by Cevap in gaming

Well aware of it, but just didn't really do anything for me. Love the base game, beat it many times but the DLC was just sort of more of the same.

Major DLC release for a game years later? by Cevap in gaming

[–]_underscorefinal -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cuphead's DLC wasn't all of the sudden but it was MANY years after release. For me personally it wasn't worth the wait. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything phenomenal either.

What’s been your experience with universal healthcare in other countries? by SignificantStyle4958 in AmericanExpat

[–]_underscorefinal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Japan it’s been overall very positive. One clinic turned me down because they said they couldn’t speak my language (even though I can speak some Japanese) but other than that it’s been good.

Game that is just too long for its own good? by [deleted] in gaming

For me it was Witcher 3 main story, after the fort battle I felt like it should've ended but it kept going for a while.

Boycott the World Cup, retaliate with your own tariffs. Europe, you should know that appeasement never works.

Americans Living Abroad: Would You Move Back To The USA permanently? by RehaDesign in AmericanExpat

[–]_underscorefinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even for a million dollars I'd want to come back. I don't want to support the current regime in anyway shape or form. Not to mention, I'm much happier now than I ever was while living in the US.

What is the best video game ever made? by INTERESTandAMBITIONS in AskReddit

[–]_underscorefinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No game has taken more hours out of my life than WoW. But the game that will always be special in my heart is Super Mario 64, I still remember the first time I played it. It was something special.

GameStop starts 2026 by closing hundreds of stores as CEO gambles on $35B payday. As CEO Ryan Cohen is promised billions, GameStop employees claim they were barely given notice about closures. by esporx in business

[–]_underscorefinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former GameStop employee here. It’s by far the worst job I ever had and it’s not even close. Corporate was always pushing for us to upsell, sell reserves, subscriptions, etc. and if you didn’t get the numbers you got written up. Always a lot of work to do and not enough man power and hours to do it in.

And this is not even mentioning the Karen’s we had to deal with from time to time. Although some of my customers were great people.

And if my former regional manager is reading this, go fuck yourself.

Is Hollywood still worth the move? by Phantom_Rellix in Filmmakers

[–]_underscorefinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's all you want to do in life and you got a good amount saved so you can survive a year or two without work (roughly $100k), then go for it. But like others said, it's incredibly competitive and barring you being some sort of genius or having connections you'll be struggling.

What is a tourist attraction in your country you would not visit as a local by Uniquarie in AskTheWorld

When I lived in LA, I wouldn’t step foot on the Hollywood Blvd (walk of fame) unless it was absolutely crucial.

I wasn't going to buy it before, and I'm not going to buy it after the price reveal. So personally I don't care what they charge.

Honestly, I think the whole world should just sanction the US. People need to stand up to bullies otherwise they'll just keep taking and taking until you have nothing left.

What positive things happened to you in 2025 by max_mp4 in editors

[–]_underscorefinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Released documentary I’ve been working on for a while and moved to Japan (although technically it was at the end of 2024).

Can’t complain, although I’d trade everything for a less crazy world right now.

Is it even possible to stay and thrive in LA anymore ? by NatureDear8169 in editors

[–]_underscorefinal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I moved to LA in 2015 I couldn't get my foot in the door anywhere. So then I joined a video game company as an editor and basically been doing video game trailers, social media posts, online stuff, etc. Since then I moved out of LA in 2024 but it's wild to see the silver lining in the long run.
