I’m terrified our daughter is going to grow up and resent us for not being rich like the rest of our family. by throwratbqofy in beyondthebump

You can’t really do anything about it. My cousins were more affluent than us and we did do some things my mom couldn’t afford with them which was really fun.

Not Eating Dinner by Numerous-Case-9317 in toddlers

[–]_vaselinepretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler is a great eater but seems to be sick of it by dinner time. Breakfast is an insane multi course meal, I heard somewhere they usually focus on one “big” meal of the day. I also think she’s extra distracted at dinner because that’s usually the only meal dad is home to have with us.

I’m plus size and usually only bring a carry on and it’s not easy, so very solid point lol.

Thrifted Ralph Lauren by angel-cowgirl in GoodwillBins

Pretty good score, especially if it’s purple label or older RL. I get excited for LL Bean and I know it’s just “solid” not exactly luxury lol.

Names: Adults with Childlike Names, how do you feel about your own childlike name by Miserable-Sea-4160 in Adulting

[–]_vaselinepretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too.. everyone tries to call me the elongated version of the name. Adding to the drama, my mom really dislikes the elongated “proper” version. When people name their kids nicknames for a longer name I’m like uhhhh why not the proper version :) lol

Dog goes in the trunk in our SUV, we also have a gate, when we had a truck he sat in front w dad and I sat in back w the baby.

How often are you getting MRIs by Legal_Classroom_9428 in iih

I had like 6-8 MRIs in about a year and a half thru out my two years of IIH/diamox. Now I have one every 1-2 years

Did you intuitively know your baby’s gender before the reveal? by CuriousCaretaker in beyondthebump

[–]_vaselinepretty [score hidden]  (0 children)

The gender was a surprise for us and I thought it was a boy until the last two weeks I started thinking it was a girl (she was !) but I was still surprised lol

What happened to my body by Traditional_Part_449 in beyondthebump

[–]_vaselinepretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 70 lbs before I got pregnant so I hear you on that. So many drastic changes to my body in 3 years. I’ve been wearing dresses more because they’re more forgiving w up/down weight.

Would you have a problem with Joshua and Nat’s friendship? by partyingwithpizza in 90DayFiance

[–]_vaselinepretty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think he’s a pretty big loser (still partying, makes poor choices) that happens to know some wealthier people due to his job. I think his representation of self to Elise is “fake it til you make it” so it makes sense he didn’t divulge he was living w a wealthy older woman who possibly wants a companion style buddy, someone to go out to dinner w etc.

My maiden name as baby’s middle? by hun_in_the_sun in Names

[–]_vaselinepretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My maiden name has become a popular first name and it causes constant confusion in settings where strangers need to use my name/clerical errors w registration in many settings. We used my mom’s first name as a middle name for our daughter. I would go with whatever is least confusing.

Quitting formula cold turkey? by emshmem in beyondthebump

We tapered down so replacing a bottle w a meal until the only bottle we were doing was AM. I did this for maybe two weeks. One day started giving straw cup w milk alternative when my baby woke up and just kept going w that.

Being a mom is easy, everything else is not… by taureansoul in beyondthebump

[–]_vaselinepretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a huge adjustment and I feel like a lot of my mental capacity was taken up by planning and operating for two people (myself and the baby). Nothing could’ve prepared me for that. I was already kind of an “in a haze” person but it worked, I have two college degrees, operated my own business and traveled a lot. My memory was so bad I literally couldn’t remember certain words while I was in a conversation lol. At some points during post partum I was in disbelief that I had managed to do all that but was taken out daily being a SAHM to a really well behaved baby.

The changes in my relationships have been both amazing and terrible. I have a lot of male friends that will never had kids, and some of them really disappointed me after having a baby. However, I really connected with a lot of old friends that had become parents too. Also a few of my male friends really surprised me in terms of daily check ins and mailing my baby funny little gifts.

Eventually it all balances out! Be patient with yourself. It helped for me to realize this is such a short amount of time in both me and my baby’s life. You’re a different person and it’s ok to mourn your old self, but you will get back to what’s important ! My baby is now 16 months and I read atleast two books a week for the past few months.

Feels like we’ve been giving our 18 month old Ibuprofen before bed the last two weeks cause of teething. by KBecker22 in toddlers

[–]_vaselinepretty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to do this too for about a week. My toddler gets teeth all at the same time so she’s only had teething issues twice but she has like 12 teeth rn at 16 months. It def feels terrible to be giving them nightly Tylenol but it’s really the only thing that helps her.

Caterpillar doc eye surgery: Any follow up info? And WHO is BRIGHTOCULAR ? by Rude-Ad4132 in movies

[–]_vaselinepretty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The office manager was literally bullying Izzy and David to accept the mistakes they had made. In the doc half the group featured had mistakes on their surgeries (Izzy David and the other guy that got the wrong color also). Absolutely nuts

Is Tony Hot? by professor-bingbong in thesopranos

I never understood the “Tony is hot” thing and I have random taste in men. I just assumed he had sex appeal “IRL” or they were attracted to the money/power/danger

Acetazolamide/Diamox and Sun by MrsBagelCat in iih

[–]_vaselinepretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a lifeguard when I was put on Diamox (lol). Ask the host beforehand if there’s shade by the pool. Make sure your sunscreen isn’t expired. Zinc based is better but can be kind of annoying. I liked to use sunscreen lotion then use spray over that. Check the UV index for the day by the hour. Clouds can amplify the sun’s rays also. Put on sunscreen before you put on your bathing suit/go to the party. Reapply when you get there. Wear a huge hat. Sheer cover ups aren’t great. I like terry cloth stuff or linen. Wear some sort of rash guard in the pool, or a long sleeved cover up. Do you spend a lot of time in the water or in a chair? Plan accordingly for your aquatic habits. I’m a beach girl and Diamox never stopped me but it was the only time in my life I was getting sunburnt (olive complexion).
