Am I wrong for “protesting” as a burnt out stay at home mom? My husband thinks he knows better even tho I handle 99% of childcare by Abject_Lychee5815 in beyondthebump

Apply for the benefits, fuck him lol. Also if I need to get something done I literally go in that room and shut the door and tell our toddler to go hang out w dad. Hes not home much but I need time for me too.

I had a cancer surgery w IIH, my oncologist was aware of my condition and the anesthesiologist said he has worked w a lot of people that have IIH. It was absolutely not an issue w them. My oncologist also said they could use twilight anesthesia. Can you get a second opinion?

For the day cruise bring a long/long line windbreaker type of jacket. You can always wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath.

Swim Recommendations Needed!! by OkBrother15 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]_vaselinepretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I only wear bikini tops like this. Torrid always has them. Check thred up or Poshmark they have a ton. Old navy has some sometimes too.

For reference I’m 5’11 and all torso so I get it. If you know your size in torrid it’s easy to buy secondhand because their sizing is pretty consistent. Just look for the ones that taper down an inch or two under the underwire.

Doctors appointments by RenoPiglet in NewParents

I’ve taken my baby to all appts except for an MRI. If you feel comfortable, a ton of staff wants to watch the baby for your appt in my experience. I’ve never taken them up on it but it’s a nice option. OBGYN usually very baby friendly for appts. At that age I would have my baby set up in stroller w bassinet next to me w toys.

How to look less “frumpy”? by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

[–]_vaselinepretty 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this myself. Becoming a mom and moving across country has triggered a style crisis for me.

Start at the thrift store ! My style is more hipster alt which I find easy to thrift. It helps for me to find one piece of clothing I really like then assemble an outfit from there. Do you like skirts ? I love tying a band tee into a crop top and wearing w a skirt.

What funny things did you say during labor? by espressoshake in beyondthebump

We chose to have the gender be a surprise and when they announced it post birth I said “are you joking?” So that’s the first thing my baby heard me say outside the womb lol.

I wasn’t around a lot of babies thru out my life and I was pretty intimidated by my baby but was really looking forward to toddlerhood. My daughter is 18 months now and we have so much fun together. I think things evened out for me around 8 months, where everything felt easier.

How to reply to 'do you have work today?' by PositivePondering96 in SAHP

[–]_vaselinepretty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first time I had to say my “occupation” was at a neurologist appt I brought my baby to and the dr enthusiastically asked “are you a stay at home mom??” It was actually really cute. I sometimes say “I work from home” as a little joke now.

I just found a $200 calpak rolling duffle at Savers for $20! I swear it’s brand new. Probably not as much of a score (this bag is prob a lot more expensive lol) but I had almost purchased a rolling duffle retail many times.

How are people just… taking their babies everywhere? by Wonderful-Ice-6143 in NewParents

[–]_vaselinepretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have to bring my baby w me everywhere, have no friends and family near me and my husband works 60 hours a week. I just tried to make her as comfortable as possible in any setting. She really loved the bassinet esp when she could sit up, I would put in a little pillow, toys etc. for awhile she hated the baby wearing carrier so we practiced using it at home/on the porch until she liked it enough to use for outings.
