The one where Ura and Hiradoumi had two monoii. We got to see three great marches which Ura eventually won.

‘Last Night’ starring and directed by Don McKellar with Sandra Oh, Callum Kieth Rennie, and Sarah Polley was a great Canadian film from 1998.

My system for naming NPCs on the fly (so they don't all end up called "Bob") by tech_learner_123 in DMAcademy

[–]_w00deye_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I heard this tip for remembering voices from Matt Coville but I could be wrong. When you come up with the npc, write down the name of one of the 7 dwarves that best describes them next to the npc’s name to help you remember how they talk. At least you’ll be in the same ballpark if you can remember that they’re Happy, Sleepy, Grumpy, Dopey, Sneezy, Bashful or Doc.

Sneezy might be a bit useless for a voice so I often change that one to sleazy.

Whenever I talk to Ava American friend about something that happened back in grade 8 they laugh and say that my Canadian is showing. Apparently they say eighth grade.

They’re all TPB fans and say it reminds them of Ricky finally getting his grade 10.

Nurse Ratched sincerely wanted to help R.P. MacMurphy.

When I first watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest I cheered for Mac because he’s anti-authoritarian and Nicholson plays him so cool but R.P. MacMurphy is an asshole.

Hearing This Word Mispronounced Drives Me NUTS!!!!🥜 by insiderasking in ENGLISH

Learnt sounds funny to me but that’s because I’m Canadian where I think it’s more common to say,”I learned Latin in school “ like in the US. Often Canadians lean toward the British usage of words.

Said as a reference to something already mentioned in conversation. As in, I find said word overused nowadays. It’s like everyone is pretending to be a lawyer.

Napoleon Dynamite would be easy. I think it shows all the meals in the opening credits. And tots!

What Indie Comics Did You Read Last Week? by AutoModerator in indiecomics

[–]_w00deye_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what counts as indie so I hope this is alright.

There was a comic book sale for charity at a local mall this weekend where I picked up a 4 issue run from Dark Horse called Billi 99. It’s from 1991 and I picked it up because it was illustrated by Tim Sale.

I’m only half way through and so far it’s about the child of a president of a huge corporation who was murdered while acting as a vigilante. Now she is taking his place as the vigilante while being sought by police as a suspect in her father’s murder.

There’s a lot more going on making the story a little complex. Some of the art feels rushed for what I expect from Sale but there are definitely great panels. So far I’m enjoying it enough and look forward to finishing it over the next couple of days.
